Did not disappoint! - I found this tour thru a You Tube channel I follow called PCDev after seeing it on one of his videos . We were in Ketchikan for a stop on our cruise and wanted to do whale and wildlife watching. This cruise did not disappoint and was fantastic!!! There were only 4 of us on the boat which only held about 10 people max. We saw multiple orcas, humpbacks and eagles, it was truly amazing. It literally brought a tear to my eye seeing such amazing wildlife up close. Captain Jesse and first mate Riley were so wonderful! This is a local and family run business so if you are in Ketchikan please don't hesitate to look them up for a great day of wonderful wildlife viewing.

Amazing wildlife viewing! - We spent an amazing morning with Jesse and Sam from Eagle One. They are super easy to find, just a few steps away from the #1 and #2 cruise ship berths in downtown Ketchikan, incredibly friendly, a wealth of knowledge, and perfect if you want a personalized experience. It was only ours and one other family onboard the Eagle One for a 2 ½ hour tour around the waters of Ketchikan, but even at full capacity the vessel wouldn’t have had many more passengers on board. Jesse knew right where to go, and we spotted humpback whales almost immediately. There were several in the bay and we got to watch them all surface repeatedly for quite a while. Sam was out on deck with us and really helped us understand the seas and the animals. They then took us over to a Bald Eagle nesting area, where we got up close to one of the majestic birds. Off in the distance, Jesse noticed a black spot on a far shoreline and as we got closer we confirmed it was a large black bear! The icing on the cake were seals relaxing on a rock formation out in the bay, and a swarm of eagles circling and diving into the water feasting on a school of fish. Plus the sun came out! If you’re visiting Ketchikan on a cruise ship, I highly recommend you spend some time with Eagle One. They are a wonderful alternative to the giant busload-type shore excursions, you’ll be glad you went!

Fantastic wildlife day!! - This is a family owned and operated operation with tues to the community. You can tell they live the area and showing it off. The boat we had was lovely with outside seating and an indoor kitchen area with hot beverages and snacks of all types.
You must be able to walk quite a distance to get to the boat, step over and up to get into the boat, and have good balance. The boat does not have a ramp to board. There is a restroom on board should you need it.
We had a beautiful day and did view humpback whales, bald eagles, sea lions, and many seagulls and other birds. But the eagles stole the show!! We were so close you could hear their calls and feel the air their wings moved. Specular!!!
I would definitely book this tour again!! Well worth the money and just a fun fulled time!!

Sam was an excellent... - Sam was an excellent guide for this excursion. Genuine and very welcoming. The boat is clean and has fun snacks! Although we didn't happen to see any whales, we did see plenty of bald eagles as well as seals sunbathing. It was a lot of fun and with awesome company. Highly recommend checking this out!

Had a good time! - It was a great experience. Our Captain Morgan, really went all out so we could see a whale. We didn't get lucky enough to see one, but it was still a good experience. Sam, our deck hand, was super friendly and knowledgeable about everything. Feeding the bald eagles was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Would definitely go again!

10/10 Authentic, Fun & Intimate Whale Watching for People Who Want A Genuine Alaskan Experience! - Still riding the high from this amazing experience! I jumped on this tour last-minute on the afternoon of May 9th—it was overcast and a bit chilly, but totally worth it. Jesse and Sam were awesome hosts and made everyone feel super welcome. We ended up following at least 8-9 humpbacks, including a mom and her calf. At many points, we had whale sightings at literally all angles both near and far.
The small group (just 10 of us) and smaller boat made it easy to move around and get great views from every angle. Picture everyone bouncing from the bow to the stern trying to catch all the action—it was so fun. Jesse and Sam clearly knew their stuff and shared some great stories throughout the trip.
The scenery around Juneau was absolutely stunning, and the sun even made a surprise appearance (the more elusive of the two). We also spotted numerous Bald Eagles on the way out of the harbour. Inside the boat, there was a cozy cabin with comfy booths, binoculars, hot drinks, and snacks—perfect for warming up between sightings.
If you’re into real, down-to-earth adventures that don’t feel super touristy, this is the tour for you. Just a heads-up: wear layers and be ready for some wind! Also, shoutout to the front desk team —they were excellent at communicating any key details and getting us on our way. Wishing Sam all the best on his next journey! Thank you guys for a great day.
TL;DR: Best whale-watching tour in Juneau. 10/10 would do it again!

Boat tour May 26, 2025 - The bald eagle spotting is about the only wildlife that is close to guaranteed. The tour is done by Eagle ii charters, boat well taken care of and a fine boat crew and shore team.

If you want Whale watching experts go elsewhere - If you're happy to take an expensive tour of the harbour then this is the trip for you, knowledge of wildlife and whales seemed very limited, the boat was a nice old lady but not built for covering large areas of water in search of wildlife. Although the weather was wet the water was calm and easy to spot whales at a distance but as said before the crews knowledge for locating the wildlife seemed very limited.
