Nairobi to Masai Mara

Rift Valley Province - (Complimentary airport pick-up is available for all guests arriving by flight on the morning of Day 1. The pick-up time is scheduled for 6 am from the airport to the departure point in Nairobi city).

Guests will be collected from their hotel in the city center to begin their safari to the Masai Mara Game Reserve, with a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. Here, they will enjoy a stunning view of the scenic floor of the Rift Valley. The Rift Valley is a geographical expanse stretching 6000km across the Middle East and Africa, from Jordan to Mozambique. It showcases remarkable topographic diversity with its escarpments, volcanoes, lakes, ancient granitic hills, flat desert landscapes, and coral reefs and islets. The breathtaking view, as one approaches from Nairobi, Kenya, is truly incredible. Visitors will also catch a glimpse of Mt Longonot from afar.

Mara River - Upon arrival at the camp, guests will check in and proceed for an afternoon game viewing in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. They will return to the camp for a delicious buffet dinner, followed by a restful night at Lenchada Tourist Camp.

Full Day Game Drive in the Mara

Mara River - Spend the entire day exploring the Masai Mara in search of the Big Five. With some luck, guests may spot the Big Five and witness the wildebeest migration. Picnic lunches will be enjoyed in the Reserve while taking in the beauty of the Mara. The banks of the Mara River are home to many resident hippos and crocodiles.

Mara to Nairobi

Mara River - After an early morning breakfast, guests will check out. There is an option to visit the nearby Maasai village for a cultural tour at an additional cost of USD 20. Following this, the drive back to Nairobi will commence. Lunch will be served en route at a traveler’s motel. Upon arrival, guests will be dropped off in the city center or at a hotel within the city center.

Ololaimutiek - This is the general area where the accommodation is located in the Maasai Mara. There will be an opportunity to visit the traditional village of the local Maasai tribe. The Maasai are eager to share their culture and traditions, showcasing their lifestyle and how they coexist with the wild animals. For the Maasai, cows represent wealth. They have long practiced a “green” approach to land management. Lion-hunting was a traditional Maasai rite of passage, though it is no longer practiced. In the past, young Maasai men proved themselves as warriors (moran) through the ritual killing of a lion, either alone or in a group, using only their iron spears. It’s nearly impossible to beat the Maasai in a jumping contest. There is much more to learn once you visit their village.
