Tsavo National Park East - Meal Plan: Lunch, Dinner
We’ll start our day early, embarking on an eventful safari journey along the scenic Mombasa-Nairobi Highway. As we travel, we’ll take in the beautiful landscapes that unfold before us.
Upon reaching Tsavo East, we’ll pause briefly for a bit of refreshment, eagerly anticipating the wildlife encounters that lie ahead. The vast expanse of open savannah, peppered with acacia trees, is ideal for spotting animals.
We’ll also visit the local water sources where animals congregate in this dry environment. The Aruba Dam is a favorite spot for both the park’s fauna and visitors keen to watch them in their habitat. Keep an eye out for species such as buffalo, waterbuck, eland, impala, and giraffe.
Following our midday meal, we’ll embark on another game drive in the area before making the quick trip to the Taita Hills Sanctuary.
Within this privately-owned conservation area, we’ll search for large predators like lions and leopards, as well as elephants, giraffes, and smaller creatures like gazelles, impalas, and dik-diks.
TSAVO EAST
Tsavo National Park East - An early morning game drive awaits us before breakfast, offering a chance to see the wildlife stir into action against the backdrop of the sanctuary’s verdant hills.
Post-breakfast at our accommodation, we’ll set out for another excursion in this wildlife-rich but compact reserve. This final drive provides additional opportunities to observe more of the animals we’ve come to admire, and possibly discover new ones.
As we bid farewell to Taita Hills, we’ll leave the park with a collection of photographs and cherished memories from our safari experience.

Though Taita Hills is small, it is a busy place, filled with over 50 species of large wildlife. The sanctuary is greener and more dramatic than Tsavo East, with frequent sighting of lion and elephant.
