• The Buttermarket Square - Meet your guide at this historic site, known for its pilgrim inns, bull stake, theatre, and market hall, and home to the impressive Christ Church Gate entrance to the Cathedral.
• Butchery Lane - A narrow, cobbled lane offering a stunning view of the Cathedral’s Bell Harry Tower, and also home to The Roman Museum.
• Mercery Lane - A narrow medieval lane with overhanging timber buildings, providing a captivating first glimpse of the Cathedral for the many pilgrims visiting the city.
• The Precincts - Marvel at the magnificent Canterbury Cathedral as the tour takes you through the Cathedral Precincts, past the ruins of the old monastery, through the cloisters, and into the grounds of the prestigious King’s School. Where possible. Please note that routes may change at short notice, and access within the Cathedral Precincts and King’s School grounds is subject to change.
• The King’s Mile - Located along Palace Street, this area features many historical timber-framed buildings. Be sure to capture a photo of the locally named ‘crooked house’!
• High Street - Home to the impressive Beaney building, which houses an art gallery, library, and information centre, as well as the Eastbridge Hospital and The Old Weavers’ House, established in 1500 AD. It sits alongside the picturesque King’s Bridge, where you can see the infamous ducking stool!
