Beautiful Introduction to Lankawi - Our guide Ram communicated arrangements to us beforehand and met us promptly at the Cruise terminal. We were able to tailor the tour and he suggested adding a Mangrove boat tour which he arranged while we were visiting the Mahsuri tomb site. What a beautiful area of the Island and legend. Along our way Ram pointed out landmarks, mountains and explained the history of the areas we travelled through. He was able to answer our many questions and give us a sense of the beautiful Island and it’s people. A much slower pace, less traffic, mountain and beach scenery, friendly people. The private Mangrove tour was excellent and our boatman pointed out many additional facts and legends. The enormous Sea Eagles with impressive wingspans and expansive mangrove forests are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site including fish farm, bat caves and a cave which can be transitted at low tide. At Kuah town we stopped to view the Langkawi Brahmin Eagle statue and “Eiffel tower”, rounding out our trip with a visit to the duty free store near the port. Thank you Ram “of Langkawi” for a most enjoyable day. Would highly recommend this tour!
