Aktau Mountains - The Aktau limestone mountains serve as an open-air geological museum. They are among the most fascinating and visually stunning tourist attractions in the State National Natural Park “Altyn-Emel.” In Kazakh, Aktau means the White Mountains. From a distance, the mountains appear white. However, within the canyons, one can discover exposed multi-colored dome rocks and towers made of colored layers, interspersed with dry canyons filled with calcite crystals. The landscapes are ever-changing, featuring bastions, towers, small towns, inaccessible castles, and canyons that seem endless.
Katutau Mountain - The volcanic Katutau Mountains, meaning “frozen” or “severe mountains” in Kazakh, are a highlight of the Altyn-Emel National Park.
Katutau represents the largest and tallest desert mountains in Altyn-Emel, with the highest point reaching 1630 meters. These lava mountains are the result of significant volcanic activity in the area. The solidified lava has taken on unusual shapes, creating a unique natural monument.

Singing Barkhan - Situated in Altyn-Emel National Park, the Singing Dune is one of nature’s most extraordinary phenomena. The area is known as the Singing Dunes due to the rumbling sound produced by the sand.
