Igongo Cultural Centre - Visit the Igongo Cultural Centre, which promotes the cultural heritage of southwestern Uganda. Located a few miles north of Mbarara on the Masaka to Mbarara road, it’s a great spot for relaxation and photography.
Kigezi - Kigezi boasts breathtaking terraced hills where tourists can go hill climbing, enjoy the cool breeze, and take in the beautiful scenery while snapping photos.
Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable forests
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After breakfast, embark on the ultimate Mountain Gorilla experience. The guide will drive guests to the Uganda Wildlife Authority point for a briefing on trekking these endangered species. You’ll be grouped with an experienced game ranger who will lead the trek for safety and guidance. The trek can last from 1 to 8 hours, depending on how fortunate you are in tracking the gorillas. Guests are allowed an hour for interaction and photography, and upon return, they receive trekking certificates from the Uganda Wildlife Authority.
Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Kibale National Park - After a sunrise breakfast, we set off on a road trip to Kibale Forest for our Chimpanzee trekking experience. The journey takes us through Queen Elizabeth National Park, offering a brief wildlife experience and a chance to spot the ‘Tree Climbing Lions’ of Ishasha. We’ll cross the equator for the second time, enjoy views of the Rwenzori mountain ranges, and arrive at Fort Portal town, the pride of the Toro kingdom. We’ll check into a lodge in Kibale Forest for our overnight stay.
Chimpanzee trekking at Kibale Forest National Park
Kibale National Park - After breakfast, drive to the Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters for a briefing before joining a group led by an experienced game ranger or guide for the trekking activity in Kibale Forest. Chimpanzees live in groups of 50-150 individuals and break into smaller groups during the day to reduce competition for resources, regrouping in the evening to build their nests. Guests are allowed an hour of interaction and receive a certificate afterward. Return for lunch and relax before the Bigodi wetland or village evening walk.
Return to Entebbe/Kampala
Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre - After breakfast, drive to Entebbe/Kampala. There are no major activities planned, but you can rest, enjoy the city view, or catch a flight home. If time permits, arrangements can be made to visit the Entebbe Wildlife Center to see various wildlife species.
Entebbe Botanic Gardens - The gardens offer birding enthusiasts a chance to start their birding adventure in Uganda. The entrance is near the Botanical Beach Hotel, and colobus monkeys are commonly seen. Note: This can be done if time allows.
Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary - Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary is home to 49 orphaned chimpanzees rescued from across East Africa. Note: This can be done if time allows.
