- Minamikase - The meeting point is Shin Kawasaki Station. The guide will provide insights into the daily lives of Sumo wrestlers, along with the rich tradition and history of Sumo. Participants will meet the local guide at Shin-Kawasaki station and proceed to an authentic Sumo stable, which was in official use until 2022. Initially, the guide will describe the distinctive lifestyle and customs of the sumo community, followed by a tour of the facilities, including the dining room, bath, and practice area, offering a glimpse into the lives of sumo wrestlers. Subsequently, attendees will have front-row seats to observe a morning sumo practice session.
Typically, Sumo morning practice starts around 7:00 a.m. and continues for three to four hours, maintaining a unique training regimen that dates back to the Samurai era. Guests interested in participating will have the chance to engage in these movements and witness the intensity of the training firsthand.
Following the practice, everyone will enjoy Chanko-Nabe together, a dish that contributes to a sumo wrestler’s physique. Participants will join the wrestlers in making chicken dumplings, the main component of the chanko-nabe, and share a meal around a table that was once used in the sumo room.
