Breathtaking views!! - John was our tour guide - he did a great job! He was very knowledgeable about the island and knew by the clouds we needed to get to the canyon quicker to avoid some rain that was coming. We got great pictures and John helped by taking pictures of us also. He even had some favorite spots to view the canyon that were absolutely breathtaking. Soon after we finished viewing the canyon the rain came. So glad we got there when we did. John was great and we had a full day of fabulous views.

Great tour - We had a wonderful time on this excursion. Our driver/guide, John, was the best. He was informative, funny and really made the whole experience enjoyable. I don’t normally like bus tours, but I would absolutely recommend this one especially if John is in charge.

Thank you Jonna for an amazing experience! - This was an excellent tour and Jonna was amazing! We had plenty of stops to see the south and west part of the island. Jonna paced the tour perfectly, never waiting too long at one spot and never feeling like we didn’t have enough time. Jonna gave us a lot of history and was hilarious along the way. We’re happy we didn’t have to drive up the windy road to the canyon and we had a pro drive us there. We def recommend this tour!!

A good tour makes all the difference! - It's well worth having a tour guide drive and discuss what we're seeing! I have visited Waimea Canyon before, but I was driving and didn't get time to enjoy the views. Rosario's commentary enriched the experience immensely.

Disappointing start but ended over the top. - The tour and John were great. Zero complaints. Love all the stops and the view from the overlooks were amazing. My issue is the shuttle was late arriving. There was no communication. I had to call and ask what was happening. The instructions for pickup were the resort I was staying in. My wife and I arrived early. Waited over 40 minutes and we were at the front entrance to the hotel. Turns out we needed to be at a special group pickup zone. No one told us. Painful start. But John turned it around. He was wonderful and very friendly and knowledgeable.

Nice tour with a couple of irks.. - First a couple of negatives hence the 3 rating.. We were staying in the Grand Hyatt on the south coast and got picked up at 7.15 .. we thought we were on our way and thought it strange that we were driving the opposite direction to all of the itinerary… we, along with a couple of others were dropped at a helicopter hub by the airport… we waited just under 10 minutes and a bus turned up, he seemed surprised that we’d been left there and left by the previous driver. By the time we got on route to the first stop it was now 8.45… why couldn’t we have been picked up on route, the same for the other couple staying at the Sheraton… The other negative is when we arrived for lunch at Kokes lounge - he gave us an hour and 40 minutes, far far too long, lunch took 30 mins, there’s a tiny museum which even if you read everything that’s 15 minutes tops and theres a very short trail which was another 5 minutes, guests were all just sitting on different areas of the grass or mooching around to kill time or on the bus waiting to go… Ok - negatives over - we were with the charismatic John, what a knowledgable and fun guy he is. He showed us the best places where to get photos and also tools photos for all of the guests. He’s also a very safe driver. We enjoyed all of the stop offs, wonderful scenery and interesting commentary so we did enjoy the day and we were delighted when John dropped off in order so we were second off, phew for a moment I thought we were going to be subjected to an extra hour plus of driving again.. a nice reprieve for my husband having a day off from driving - had we copied this exact tour it is more like a 7 not 10 hour tour but I get it… always slower in a group.
