A Must-Do Activity - What a fun adventure! It's the best of both worlds with some time on the river and then a hike through the rainforest, with a beautiful waterfall destination. Wailua River is very mellow and would be easy for even a beginning kayaker. Your kayak will be a double, so be prepared to row with your partner. That was the trickiest part and my husband's least favorite part. The hike can get muddy and slippery. If you go slow, watch your footing, and step toe-to-heel, you should be fine. A good portion of the hike has flat boardwalks to walk on. There are river crossings so I recommend wearing water shoes. You'll get to cross through one of the four Queens Baths, too! Kai, our driver, was welcoming and kind. Kaimana, our tour guide, was awesome. He was very knowledgeable and informative. I loved all the history he was able to give us about the island and it's culture. He offered to cut bamboo walking sticks for anyone who needed them and took pictures of each of us at the Queen's bath crossing. He even provided us with a list of all his favorite restaurants after the tour. Really appreciated the friendly crew and would do this again!

Great time on the river and at Secret Falls - The staff and guide were outstanding. We were unfamiliar with the kayaking methods, but our guide helped to put us on the right track and made the experience memorable.

Can be awesome but… - Awesome experience. But, you have to wear water shoes that you can hike in. Trail is wet and muddy. We went in April. You are walking through muddy, slippery rocks and crossing 3 streams. One went almost to our waist. Very difficult terrain. Do not go if you have any physical impairments as you won’t make it. If you are physically fit and love the outdoors then you will enjoy it. If you don’t, you will not find this experience enjoyable. Keep in mind that after 2 hours if this hike you have to kayak back for another mike and a half. Our guide Nui is as awesome!

SUPER TOUR! - Our guide was the best. Lots of history and fact during the tour. KAYAKING was not harmed and the hiking was a little tricky but fine if you don’t have mobility issues.

Great trip! - Great tour. The guide was great, the kayaking fun, the hike not too long, and the waterfall was beautiful. Definitely one of the best things to do on the island!

Hike to Secret Falls. Not so Secret. - The waterfalls and the river. Beautiful. But the secret falls are not so secret. Heavy traffic on the trail. Sturdy hiking shoes recommended.

Making Memories - Jake was a great guide. We were part of a group of 12. It was crowded where we beached the kayaks. The hike is on rocks and mud. You will get wet. Jake hiked barefoot. I would not recommend that. Flip flops and crocs are not a good idea. Water and snacks are a great idea. There were people in their 80s and parents with toddlers. The falls are beautiful, the pool was fun to wade in. I watched a few people slip on the mossy rocks, so be careful We returned to the kayaks to find half of them missing because the tide had risen.

Must do in Kauai! - Definitely more than anticipated - we loved it from the very start (yes - friendly check in and welcome) to the very end - all between was just spectacular! The river, the views, the stories- the trail walk - the river crossings and climbs - crowned with a swim in beautiful waterfall and all this beauty doubled on the way back! Words can’t describe- thank you guys for fantastic day!

Fun way to experience Kauai! - A guide led us up the river to a hiking trail to the Secret Falls. The kayaking required moderate skills (especially with the tandem kayak communication), but the hike was easy! There were several people on the river and trails, so it was a rather crowded experience.

Nice adventure - Fun with family kids and grand kids. Paddling and short hike were exceptional with knowledgable guide. Due to weather we were unable to go to the falls but still worth the reduced rate.
