- 2251 Poipu Rd - The first portion of your lesson is spent on land learning the basics of paddling, getting up and surfing a wave. The rest of the time is in the water with your professional, fun instructor sharing tips and information on how to actually surf! A safety briefing and all gear needed is provided. Minimum age for group lessons is 8 years and maximum weight is 225 lbs.

Turn into the Ko'a Kea Resort entrance off of Po'ipu Rd. Follow the Ko'a Kea signs on your right all the way into the Valet area at the Ko'a Kea Resort (Red Salt Restaurant). Tell them you are there for a surf lesson. We are located poolside next to the Pool Bar at our Hoku Water Sports kiosk.

Fun time and lovely experience - It was perfect. The coach was amazing. Patient. Funny and I met new people. I didn’t realize how much I am out of shape but nonetheless I had A Fun Time!!! the water temperature was perfect. The coach showed me what I have to work on. Everyone else during the tour picked it up. Fantastic time

Incredible experience! - Incredible experience! The knowledge and friendly staff helped my husband and I achieve success in surfing! From the dry ground demonstrations to the in water assistance, everything was way better than I could imagine! We were given booties and rash guards, which made a huge difference. We are both 55 and over, don't let your age stop you!

Surfing at 60 - David and his experienced crew made this a fun adventure. Come rested and prepared to paddle hard and get splashed around. Had a wonderful and exhausting time. With good memories.

Give it a try while you’re on the island! - Surfing is a lot of fun, but also helps if you’ve got good cardio. If you don’t, you’ll still have fun, but you’ll be more tired. Go enjoy the waves.

So Fun!!! - So Fun!!! We were all catching waves, and in one lesson was able to Surf at 55 years old, first time trying! Mahalo! It's a bit of a workout too, but so worth it.

The lesson itself was... - The lesson itself was great. The instructor was great at teaching technique. The thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was that we had already given him a tip at the end of the lesson. An hour or so later The instructor texted my partner asking for more of a tip and providing his venmo details.
Also note that the area is rocky unlike the northshore.
