- 2251 Poipu Rd - The first portion of your lesson is spent on land learning the basics of paddling, getting up and surfing a wave. The rest of the time is in the water with your professional, fun instructor sharing tips and information on how to actually surf! A safety briefing and all gear needed is provided. Minimum age for group lessons is 8 years and maximum weight is 225 lbs.

Turn into the Ko'a Kea Resort entrance off of Po'ipu Rd. Follow the Ko'a Kea signs on your right all the way into the Valet area at the Ko'a Kea Resort (Red Salt Restaurant). Tell them you are there for a surf lesson. We are located poolside next to the Pool Bar at our Hoku Water Sports kiosk.

David is the boss :) - It was our first time on surf. But with great support, hints, patience from David we managed to learn foundation and even catch some waves :) highly recommended!

Solid surf sesh! - We booked as a group of 4, and had a great instructor, who was patient, very helpful and encouraging, and made sure each of us had multiple opportunities to catch the waves. Check in was easy, parking was valet, beautiful grounds to practice on, and poipu beach was mild enough, but still challenging, to get the surfer vibes in real life practice! Highly recommend…and the 90 minute session will have you feeling like a full day at the beach!

Incredible introduction to surfing! - One word WOW! Our three children (11, 15 and 17 years old) took their first surf class today. They loved their experience. Their instructor David was great, I strongly suggest it! He provided good advice before entering the water as well as the water. Good physical strength is preferable and if you already practice a board sport (in our case snowboarding) it will help you greatly! Thank you David for this unforgettable initiation! A new sport to practice for them!

Great surfing coach! - Our surf coach was incredibly kind, skilled and helpful. Very professional and organized lesson. My kids and I had a wonderful time and lots of fun!

Great Instructor - My husband and I did a surf lesson with our two sons, ages 11 and 9. Surfing is not easy but our instructor (David) helped our boys feel confident and have a good time. They keep asking if we can come back and do another lesson with him. It was a highlight of our vacation!

Great way to feel one with nature and enjoy the ocean - Kaiku and David were so friendly. My kids, ages 19, 16, & 15 went out and had fun. They also provided water shoes and rash guards. My kids were able to learn how to get up on the board and ride some waves. The waves were perfect size and were nice long rides. Highly recommend it. The kids were tired after this excursion but they enjoyed it.

Awesome time!! - Kele was an amazing instructor!! He brought such a positive energy with him and was super encouraging to me and my husband who were first time surfers. The company also gave us shoes to wear during the excursion, which was super helpful for the rocks in the sand. We had a wonderful time! Can’t recommend this excursion or Kele enough!

I’ll start this review by... - I’ll start this review by saying that surf conditions were not ideal. That aside we did not leave feeling good about this experience. Our instructor was not very friendly and it felt over booked. There were too many people in a very small area trying to catch waves. We only spent about an hour max in the water.
