In search of a unique experience on Kauai? It’s time to live your dream of surfing with our surf lessons in Kauai! Imagine surfing at Hanalei Bay, guided by a local professional surfer during your own Kauai surf lesson.Sandy bottom, shallow water, and getting up after your ride. Learners to intermediate surfers can catch waves almost daily.
In our reopening phase during Covid-19, we offer either personal lessons or semi-private lessons for 2 or 3 people. The cost for a private lesson for 13 and older is 150.00 plus tax; a semi-private lesson for 2 is 180.00 plus tax; and for 3 it is 250.00 plus tax. Private lessons for ages under 13 are set at 125.00
We also provide group lessons for 4 people at a rate of 300.00 plus tax for a safer learning environment for instructors.
- Participant must call and re-confirm booking 48 hours prior to activity
- Participants are with their own people whether 1/2/3/4 or more so can be an age you feel appropriate.

Great teacher, instant success - Our two teenagers (18, 16) has a blast with Nate. He was very kind, patient and encouraging. The kids had instant success in riding waves in beautiful Hanalei bay. A great experience!
The bay is incredibly gorgeous, white sand beach, green mountains, boats anchoring.
Booking, check-in, transfer, everything went smoothly. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.
We would return but, alas, we’re leaving luscious Kauai for Oahu.

Super good surf school - Super good surf school. Our teacher Henrik was really good and was able to teach us how to surf in 2 hours. Very well organized and everything was safe 👍

Exceeded our high expectations. - An amazing experience at one of the most beautiful places on earth! HSA made it so easy and fun! Evan is a great instructor. While we learned, we laughed a lot. He really did a great job. This was a bucket list item and the HSA team made it a lifetime experience. Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience - The session far exceeded our expectations. The check in staff were so kind and accommodating. You get a complimentary wet suit for the session. Our instructor was phenomenal and worked tirelessly with us to help us try to catch every wave. These have to be the best surfing lessons on the island.

Awessome - I have taken several lessons with them over the years. All the instructors are great. My personal favorite is Big Sean because I am old and slow and he is patient. Book with them. You will not regret it. It seems to be that everyone catches waves. And you are surfing in the most beautiful place on earth.

Repeat customer! - After a great experience surfing with their instructors in 2023, we booked 2 private sessions this year (last year we surfed as a couple, but due to injury this year my husband surfed on his own). His two morning sessions with Big Nate were fantastic - surfing at Pinetrees and Pavillion on separate days, and I was able to watch from the beach. The instructors are great at teaching technique, providing encouragement, and of course keeping students safe! We will be booking again and would highly recommend.
