The Ali’i, or royalty, lived here, and many heiaus (temples) were constructed in this area. Visitors will explore Poliahu Heiau, Opaekaa Falls, and the Wailua River lookout, the state’s largest navigable river, from two vantage points. As you take in the stunning surroundings at each stop, the guide will share captivating stories of ancient times and the islands’ evolution into the modern era.
• Lydgate State Park - Enjoy a leisurely walk along the path at the picturesque Lydgate Beach Park. • Wailua Falls - Waterfalls are a must-see on any vacation. From Wailua town, the tour proceeds to Lihue town to visit the stunning and well-known Wailua Falls, featured in the TV show “Fantasy Island.” There will be ample time to admire the falls, take photos, and explore local vendors.
• Spouting Horn - En route to the Spouting Horn, the tour passes through the famous Tree Tunnel. Prepare to be amazed by this natural wonder, an ancient lava tube transformed into a water blowhole by ocean wave erosion. The Hawaiian legend associated with this site, complete with sound effects, will be shared.
