Setting Sail on the Wailua River

The moment I dipped my paddle into the serene waters of the Wailua River, I felt a sense of calm wash over me. The sheer size and beauty of the waterfall took my breath away. We spent a blissful half-hour here, enjoying a delicious lunch of sandwiches, cookies, and drinks. The cool mist from the waterfall was refreshing, and I couldn’t resist taking a dip in the pool at its base.

A delightful surprise awaited us on the boardwalk as another tour group passed by. Their guide sounded a conch shell, and the entire group sang happy birthday to one of our members. It was a heartwarming moment that added a personal touch to our adventure.

The journey back to our starting point was filled with laughter and shared stories. Alealani’s enthusiasm never waned, and she continued to share insights about the island’s flora and fauna. Upon our return, she treated us to a juicy pineapple, a sweet end to our day.
