  • Simonehoeve - Participants receive a comprehensive tutorial and live demonstration on the craft of clog-making, utilizing both traditional handcrafting techniques and modern machinery. Expert insights into the clog-making process are shared, and attendees are given the chance to carve their own wooden clogs from a block of wood individually (for groups of 4 or more) or in pairs (for groups of 12 or more). Additionally, participants have the opportunity to personalize their clog creations by engraving them.

Following the workshop, guests are treated to a guided excursion through the cheese farm, complete with samplings of various cheeses, traditional Dutch cookies, and fruit wines. The entire experience lasts around 2 hours, with the clog crafting and engraving portion taking up about 1.5 hours.

Visitors have the option to purchase food and beverages at the on-site restaurant.

Walk through the entrance door and one of our colleagues will come to welcome you and show you the way. The Simonehoeve provides free parking on site. Additionally, the farm is easily reached via public transport (bus 316 from Amsterdam CS, bus 312 from Amsterdam North - stop Hotel Volendam.

interesting but tiring - it was interesting to experience using traditional tools to make a clog but too much time was needed and we were definitely not able to finish one in the allocated time. we were allowed to switch to painting a clog-shaped bottle opener halfway so we could at least bring a small souvenir home.
