Guided Sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu
Kathmandu Durbar Square - Your first stop today will be the enchanting Kathmandu Durbar Square, home to many ancient temples that define Kathmandu with their fascinating architecture.
Swayambhunath Temple - Next, you’ll visit Swayambhunath Stupa, the oldest known stupa in Nepal, also called the “Monkey Temple.” This temple is perched atop a hill, with the large stupa as its main attraction. You can reach it via a long staircase or by road from the backside. Once at the top, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of the Kathmandu Valley.
Boudhanath Stupa - Following this, you’ll visit Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site. You’ll have some free time here to enjoy lunch and soak in the serene atmosphere while observing local devotees and their religious practices.
Pashupatinath Temple - Afterwards, you’ll head to the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, a significant pilgrimage site for Hindus, located along the Bagmati River. This temple is also a site for cremation ceremonies. In the evening, you’ll be captivated by the beautiful Sandhya aarti, a prayer ritual with flickering lights and soulful chants that illuminate the temple and riverbanks. After a day filled with enriching experiences, our guide will escort you back to your hotel.
Sightseeing in Patan and Bhaktapur
Patan Durbar Square - Today, our guide will meet you and drive you to Patan, one of the ancient cities within the Kathmandu Valley. You’ll visit Patan Durbar Square and other UNESCO World Heritage sites. We will explore Krishna Temple and Patan Durbar Square. Later, visit the Patan Museum to learn more about the history of Patan and its rulers. You’ll also visit the Golden Temple, a major attraction for both Hindus and Buddhists.
Bhaktapur Durbar Square - Later, you’ll explore Bhaktapur Durbar Square, one of the largest and best-preserved medieval city centers from the Malla period. The area is renowned for its monuments and architecture, as well as its well-preserved local traditions like pottery. The city has maintained its historical form to this day. You can admire the old wood-carved buildings throughout Bhaktapur. We will visit the Nyatapola Temple, one of the largest temples in Nepal, and Pottery Square, where you can take a pottery-making class using traditional methods. You’ll be taught to design your own pot, and once you have your basic shape, you can choose to decorate it. Please note that this activity incurs a separate cost, which you will need to cover. After exploring, we’ll return you to your hotel so you can rest and reflect on the wonderful experiences you had today in these historical places.
Kathmandu to Chitwan Drive
Chitwan National Park - Today, you’ll embark on a journey approximately 160 kilometers southwest of Kathmandu to Chitwan National Park, a popular tourist destination in Nepal. It is the first national park in Nepal. The drive is scenic, taking you through the Trishuli Valley, with hills covered in forests and farming villages. You’ll then head towards the plains, reaching Mugling. Along the way, you’ll see small shops and mini-markets. Upon arrival, you’ll visit the Tharu Village and enjoy their traditional dance. You’ll savor tea made by the Tharu community in clay teapots. Later, enjoy the Tharu stick dance and Dhaan Naach. You’ll relax by the riverside, enjoying a beautiful sunset and glimpses of wildlife.
Chitwan Jungle Safari
Chitwan National Park - Begin your full-day sightseeing tour with a canoe ride on the Rapti River, where you can observe Marsh Mugger and Gharial crocodiles resting by the riverbank. After canoeing, take a guided jungle walk. Then, return to the hotel for lunch. Later, embark on a Jeep Jungle Safari. You’ll enter the community forest section to view the One-Horned Rhino and other wildlife such as wild boar, deer, and leopards. Afterward, cross the Rapti River to explore the main national park area. If you’re fortunate, you might spot the Royal Bengal Tiger in the highland area, where bushes reach heights of 5-6 feet. You’ll also have the chance to see wild elephants and other wildlife. After completing your sightseeing tour, return to the hotel to rest.
Chitwan to Lumbini
Lumbini - Today, our tour guide will take you to the Rapti riverbank for bird watching. Chitwan is one of the best places for bird watching during a trip to Nepal. Our tour guide will explain the different bird species and their migration patterns during the winter season from various parts of the world to Chitwan, Nepal. Later, you’ll head towards Lumbini, which is 150 kilometers away from Chitwan. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and rest for a while. Later, visit the sacred garden, where you’ll see the Ashoka pillar, the small pond Puskarini, the Maya Devi Temple, the Bodhi Temple, Maya Devi Pond, and the remaining meditation site and residential monastery for monks. After that, visit some of the monasteries in the Monastery Zone, which include monasteries built in various architectural styles, and return to the hotel.
Lumbini to Pokhara (Distance: 220 km – Duration: 7-8 Hours)
Pokhara - After breakfast, you’ll drive from Lumbini to Pokhara. It’s a scenic drive along the Siddhartha Highway, a major highway in Nepal connecting the Terai region in southern Nepal with the mountain region in northern Nepal. You’ll have the opportunity to see small hills and farming villages. Pokhara is the second-largest city in Nepal after Kathmandu and is home to numerous lakes and caves. The lakes in Pokhara include Fewa Lake, Begnas Lake, Rupa Lake, Gude Lake, Neurani Lake, and Maidi Lake, among others. The peaks visible from Pokhara include Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna range. The city is also the gateway for trekking to the Annapurna range. Notable caves here are Bat Cave, Mahendra Cave, and Gupteshwor Cave, among others. Two major hilltops in Pokhara serve as perfect getaways: the World Peace Pagoda at the southern shore of Fewa Lake and Sarangkot, a beautiful hill in the northwest part of Pokhara.
Pokhara Full Day Sightseeing
Sarangkot - Early in the morning, you’ll head to Sarangkot. The breathtaking view over the Himalayan mountains provides a stunning backdrop for the sunrise and an introduction to some of the 8000+ meter high mountains. After the sunrise, enjoy breakfast at your hotel.
Devi’s Fall - Afterwards, visit the famous Devi’s Fall, a popular spot for tourists and locals. The waterfall continues underground, making it a unique place to visit.
Gupteshwor - Next, visit the Gupteshwor Cave, located across the street from Devi’s Waterfall. You can see the waterfall’s flow from inside the cave as well. After that, you’ll head back to your hotel.
World Peace Stupa - Conclude your day with a visit to the World Peace Stupa, a white-domed Buddhist monument symbolizing peace. Built by Japanese monks, it sits on a hilltop with stunning views of the Himalayas and Phewa Lake. The stupa promotes harmony and offers a peaceful retreat for visitors.
Pokhara to Kathmandu via Bandipur (Distance: 240 km - Duration: 8 hours)
Bandipur - Today, it’s time to drive back to Kathmandu for your final days in Nepal. After about 2-3 hours of driving, we’ll stop for around an hour to explore Bandipur, a charming old town. After lunch (at your own expense), we’ll continue our journey to Kathmandu.
