Full day in Kathmandu with half-day sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Kathmandu - In the morning, as per the briefing schedule, guests will depart for a tour around Kathmandu to explore places of interest. The Kathmandu Valley is rich with historical and religious monuments, temples, and monasteries, many of which are World Heritage Sites. Highlights of this sightseeing tour include the ancient Buddhist stupa of Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, renowned for its unique blend of Hinduism and Buddhism, and offering a beautiful view of Kathmandu city. The tour continues to the Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world, where the Tibetan community, Sherpas, and tourists alike circumambulate daily. Visitors can immerse themselves in the peaceful Buddhist mantras and observe pilgrims paying their respects to Lord Buddha. The tour also includes a visit to the Hindu sacred pilgrimage site of Pashupatinath Temple, where guests will find several small temples, statues, and ancient heritages. Observing the open cremation at the bank of the holy Bagmati River, receiving blessings from the sadhus draped in saffron and holding tridents, and feeling the positivity are all part of the experience.
After an engaging tour, the afternoon is free for relaxation and preparation for the Manaslu & Tsum Valley Trekking, which begins with an early morning overland drive to the Gorkha area.
Drive to Machha Khola (930 m / 3,051 ft) - 06 hrs. walk
Manaslu - After breakfast, our representative will transfer guests on a scenic drive towards Mid-West on Nepal’s busy main highway. The journey transitions from urban areas to lower, warmer mid-hills, passing various farm villages and towns with views of snowcapped peaks. The drive takes about 7-8 hours, during which guests will also witness waterfalls, the Trishuli River, and the Budi Gandaki River along the route. The roadway is generally fair, with some bumpy sections. Lunch is served along the route where convenient.
Along the way, guests will see the famous waterfall named Nauli Jharana. After a quick photo stop at Nauli Jharana, the journey continues along the riverside of Budigandaki, passing short settlements like Khursani Bari and Labu Besi until reaching Machha Khola. Upon arrival at Machha Khola, guests will pass the first checkpoint for the Manaslu Conservation Area, where all logistics are handled by the guide provided by Nepal Trekking Planner. Afterward, guests will settle into their accommodation and rest until dinner is served.
Trek to Dobhan (1,070 m / 3,510 ft) via Tatopani (Hot Spring) - 06 hrs. walk
Trek to Philim (1,570 m / 5,151 ft) - 06 hrs. walk
Philim - Today’s trek to Philim takes about 6 hours from Dobhan. In the morning, guests will walk across a wide gravel bed towards Lauri, then cross a suspension bridge leading to a climb along a high path. They will descend into an open valley known as Yara Khola, continuing for another hour to reach the village of Jagat. Jagat is a sizable village after Arughat, inhabited by a mixed race of Magar, Chettris, Brahman, Bhotiya (Tibetan-looking tribes), and a few Newar merchants and shopkeepers. There is a brief stop at Jagat for another MCAP checkpoint, where licenses and permits are thoroughly checked. The trail from Jagat descends to a long series of stone steps to a river. From there, the path climbs a terraced hillside to Salleri, offering distant views of Siringi Himal (7,187m) from this spot. The walk follows an up-and-down trail until reaching the bridge over Buri-Gandaki.

Trek to Chumling (2,386 m / 7,828 ft) - 06 hrs. walk
Trek to Chhokangparo (3,031 m / 9,944 ft) - 06 hrs. walk
Trek to Nele (3,361 m / 11,027 ft) via Rachen Gompa - 05 hrs.
Manaslu - Start the day with breakfast and head towards the trail. Today’s walk is up to Nele via Rachen Gompa, taking about 5 hours from Chhokangparo. Rachen Gumba is the largest Gumba in Tsum Valley, dedicated to nuns, meaning only women are present for worship. There are around 200 nuns, with the oldest nun providing blessings and teaching the younger ones according to tradition. Rachen Gompa is also the route towards Milarepa Cave, adorned with iron prayer flags and Sarpu Stupa along the way. After visiting the Gumba, guests will continue to Nele, a small village famous for its quality and tasty potatoes. The village’s settlements consist of animal shelters on the ground floor and human housing on the upper level of the same house. Guests will rest in their accommodation.
Trek to Mu Gompa (3,700 m / 12,139 ft) - 04 hrs.
Mu Gompa - Today’s trek heads towards Mu Gompa from Nele, taking around four hours with a lunch stop at Chho Syong. The journey leads to the first main destination at Mu Gompa, reaching the highest point around Mu Gompa in the first section of the adventure. As the walk continues, guests will climb through arid terrain, offering views of high peaks along the way to Mu Gompa for an overnight stop. Mu Gompa is for male monks only, but trekkers can sleep inside the monastery. People in the area go for Yarshagumba hunting. At Mu Gompa, guests will have a free afternoon to explore the unexplored areas around the high valley of Tsum. This region boasts traditional villages and an intriguing old Mu Gompa featuring ancient antique idols, scrolls, statues, and relics. It is one of the most important monasteries in the Tsum and Manaslu area.
The village of Upper Tsum is located on the route to the Tibet border, which is rarely frequented by foreign trekkers and adventurers.
Trek to Chhokangparo (3,031 m / 9,944 ft) - 06 hrs
Trek to Lokpa (2,240 m / 7,349 ft) - 06 hrs. walk
Manaslu - After breakfast, guests will retrace their steps towards Lokpa. The day involves about a 6-hour walk from Chhokangparo, ultimately joining the Manaslu trail. As the walk follows the same path all the way to Lokpa, guests will move along the path of the Budigandaki River. The trail passes through lush green forests, offering opportunities to capture stunning photographs along the way. Upon reaching Lokpa, guests will stay at their accommodation, rest, and have dinner.

Namrung - Guests can witness apple gardens, farms, and apple products in Namrung. There are several tea house options in Namrung with cozy and well-equipped layover places. Most of the settlements are for personal use, while some are entirely for business. The lunch spot is located at Ghap, about 2-2.5 hours from Bihiphedi. The path from Ghap to Namrung contains rocky terrains and traditional typical local Gurung and Sherpa villages. Barley and potato fields can be seen, cultivated for only one season. Upon reaching Namrung, guests will settle into their accommodation. They can try local dishes and apple wine, pie, and other apple products during dinner. Guests will stay overnight at Namrung.

Trek to Samagaon (3,530 m / 11,581 ft) - 05 hrs. walk
Trek to Samdo (3,690 m / 12,106 ft) - 04 hrs. walk
Samdo - Begin the day with breakfast at the accommodation in Samagaon. Today, guests will trek back to Samdo from Samagaon, which takes about 4 hours. The trail is mostly flat, offering a close view of Samdo Peak. Locals here also go for Yarshagumba hunting in the mountain region. Samdo is known as the last village before Larke Pass and links Nepal with the Tibet border. Guests will settle into their accommodation in Samdo, enjoying lunch and dinner there. Samdo will be the last village before Larkya-la. In earlier days, Larkya Bazaar near westward of Samdo was a place where Tibetan merchants and people from this region, as well as those from lower Gorkha, used to trade and barter. At Samdo, guests can enjoy a rest day with a short hike and excursion, exploring this interesting village with views of snow-capped peaks.
At Samdo rest day for acclimatization and local excursion
Samdo - Guests will spend a full day at Samdo for acclimatization to the high altitude. Samdo is located on a terraced hillside on the opposite bank of the Budhi Gandaki. It is one of the remote and permanent villages in Nepal, characterized by its moderate size, comprising more than forty houses and a population of approximately 200 villagers who endure extremely harsh arctic conditions. Samdo marks the last village before reaching Larkya-la. In earlier days, Larkya Bazaar was situated to the west of Samdo, where Tibetan merchants and people from this region, as well as those from the lower Gorkha region, used to engage in trade and barter.
During their stay in Samdo, guests can enjoy a well-deserved rest day. They can go on short hikes and excursions to explore this fascinating village, all while savoring views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks.
Trek to Dharamshala (4,470 m / 14,665 ft) - 05 hrs. walk
Cross Larke La (5,215 m / 17,110 ft) and trek to Bhimthan (3,790 m / 12,434 ft) - 07 hrs. walk
Trek to Tilje (2,300 m / 7,546 ft) - 06 hrs. walk
Manaslu - From here onward into the Manang district, located at the junction of the famous and popular Annapurna Circuit and Manaslu trail, the morning leads to a climb up to the pleasant and large village of Dharapani. From there, guests will continue on the main trail heading south towards warmer areas, following the Marsyangdi River downstream to reach Tal for an overnight stop.
This is the last and ending point of the Manang district and beyond towards the Lamjung area.
Trek to Tal (1,725 m / 5,659 ft) - 05 hrs.
Annapurna Region - Continue a 5-hour trek towards Tal. The morning will begin with a climb up to the pleasant and sizable settlement of Dharapani, located at the junction of the famed and popular Annapurna Circuit and Manaslu path. Following the Marsyangdi River downstream from Dharapani, guests will continue on the main trail heading south towards a warmer location. Lunch is served at Kharte. Moving downward for 2 hours, guests will finally reach Tal. Tal is a small village with thatched houses. There is also a safe drinking water station located near the village. An ACAP checkpoint can be found in this place.
Trek to Baundanda (1,250 m / 4,101 ft) - 06 hrs. walk
Trek to Bhulbhule (840 m / 2,755 ft) - 2 hrs and drive to Kathmandu - 07 hrs.
Final International departure from Nepal.
