Flights to Lukla - Begin the day with an early morning transfer to the airport for a 35-minute scenic flight to the Himalayan foothills, marking the start of the trek into the Everest region. Phakding - Upon arrival at Lukla airport, embark on a 3-hour trek to the town of Phakding, navigating some gentle ascents and descents along the Dudh Koshi River. Enjoy an overnight stay at a tea house in Phakding.

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440m/11287ft) 5-6 hrs walk

Namche Bazaar - After breakfast, continue trekking along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing it multiple times on thrilling suspension bridges adorned with prayer flags. Enter Sagarmatha National Park, and from Larja Dobhan, the trail ascends steeply, offering stunning views en route to Namche Bazaar, the gateway to the Everest region. Overnight stay at a tea house in Namche Bazaar.

Rest/acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar

Everest View Point - Enjoy a rest and acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar, a vibrant village with numerous shops, vendors, delicious food, and spectacular mountain views. An early morning hike above the town, before the clouds roll in, rewards trekkers with a magnificent Himalayan sunrise and views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and more. On the descent, visit the Sherpa Museum, which features exhibits on traditional Sherpa life and a stunning photography display by a local Nepalese naturalist. Overnight stay at the tea house.

Gokyo Lakes - Ascend steeply out of the valley through rhododendron forests. The trail passes through several Kharkas, summer settlements used by Sherpas for grazing yaks. The route goes through the settlements of Tongba (3950m) and Gyele (3960m). Overnight stay at the tea house.

Trek to Machermo (4470m/14665ft) 4-5 hrs walk

Machhermo - From Dole, the trail climbs steadily along the valley, with rhododendron forests giving way to scrub juniper as the altitude increases. Pass through several summer settlements used for yak grazing. Enjoy excellent views of Cho Oyu, with Kantega and Thamsherku visible down the valley. This is a short trek, arriving at Machhermo (4410m) around lunchtime.

Trek to Gokyo (4790m/15715ft) 4-5 hrs walk

Gokyo Lakes - Beyond Machhermo, the trail ascends a ridge offering excellent views down the valley to Kantega and up towards Cho-Oyu (8,153m). The valley widens as the trail passes through Pangram at 4,390m, descends to the riverbank, and then climbs to the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpa glacier. After a steep climb, the trail levels out, passing a second lake, Longponga at 4,690m, before reaching Gokyo at 4,750m, on the edge of the third lake. Gokyo is a small but growing settlement with about 6-8 lodges. Its glacial lake and surrounding snow-capped mountains make it a gem of the Khumbu region. Overnight stay at the tea house.

Gokyo Ri - Start the day early with a guided hike to Gokyo Ri (5463m/17923ft) for a sunrise view. Enjoy panoramic views of Mt. Return to the hotel for breakfast, and in the afternoon, explore up to the fifth lake, passing the fourth lake, and savor the views. Overnight stay at the tea house.
