Highlights

Kathmandu to Soti Khola (Drive)\n\nSoti Khola - You can take a bus or a bus/ local jeep combo to the starting point of the trek. A private jeep is also an option you might want to consider as the road is long, dusty, and bumpy. The local buses and jeeps will stop on the highway for lunch and toilet breaks. Your own jeep is more flexible, of course.

Additional Information

Regarded as one of Nepal’s finest hikes, the roundabout route around Manaslu offers a quieter alternative to the popular Annapurna Circuit Trek. The journey from the balmy rice terraces in the lowlands to the snow-capped Larkya La Pass near Tibet is physically demanding. The trek, despite its isolation and difficulty, has a rich cultural experience and breathtaking landscape making it worthwhile. Notable features include the Budi Gandaki River gorge, with its icy aquamarine waters cascading over falls and beneath suspension bridges, and the 5,167m Larkya La pass that may require crampons. The view from the pass is exquisite, with sights like a vast glacial basin and the towering Annapurna II outclassing the surrounding peaks. The area has a unique expedition-like feel, quite distinct from the more commonly travelled routes. For those seeking solitude, unspoiled natural beauty, and are physically prepared, this trek should indeed be on your list.

Superb trek. Highly recommended. - Great trek. Very varied. Our excellent guide Mitra pointing out wildlife and giving us history of various sites. Mitra ensured we walked at a slow enough pace that altitude was not a problem. Lots of good views as expected, but also sociable evenings in the tea houses. Bring cards and other games. Note that tea house rooms are not heated - and the evenings can be cold.

Incredible trip with a great company, brilliant guide and beautiful Manaslu circuit! - What a trip!! The team at Magical Nepal are absolutely amazing and our Guide Narayan was awesome! Everything was so well organised from pre-trip communication with Pradeep, to the moment we landed and left at the airport. Travelling between the airport and out from Kathmandu for the Manaslu circuit was all very easy. The trek was stunning! It was a big trip for us that did now disappoint in any way! The circuit took us through such incredible and varied scenery. During the trek Narayan was the perfect host and guide. His vast experience and relationships with local communities and tea houses along the route was so lovely to see and added to our experience too. We could not fault him in any way and his positive energy was such a joy. The tea house accommodation had everything you needed in beautiful traditional locations along the route. The hosts and Narayan always made sure of anything additional we might need along the way too (including extra blankets on those colder nights higher up). The traditional food served was also excellent! So much lovely local choice to fuel busy walking days with plenty of masala tea and sweet treats too! Would highly recommend Narayan as a guide! If we are able to visit and trek in beautiful Nepal again we will certainly be hoping to have Narayan as our guide again too. We wish Magical Nepal all best!

Unforgettable trip trekking the Manaslu Circuit! - Had the trip of a lifetime completing the Manaslu circuit with Magical Nepal. Our guide, KP had expert knowledge on the area and made the experience stress free and would always help with any questions or problems we had. He also really felt part of the group and more than just a guide. The trek is well worth doing and couldn’t recommend it enough. Expect some challenging and long trekking days, we had the option to do Manaslu Base Camp which was tough yet rewarding and an experience we won’t forget. If you want a remote, wild, cultural experience with amazing views, go for this trek. Make sure to go before the main government road plan gets built and therefore busier!

Mitto chha :-) - Pemba was very kind and it was immediately noticeable that he knew the whole region including the trek perfectly and even if we could not make it over the pass (because of the snow), other alternatives were always found which were also always very interesting. In the evening in addition to the many stories about Nepalese culture Pemba always also gave us short Nepalese lessons all with a lot of patience. Of course if we ever feel like doing another trek in Nepal someday we will remember Pemba &Samir and Magical Nepal. Calocoffe!!! Greetings from Zürich

Very nice experience - We had a really great time trying to do the Manaslu circuit with Pemba, the guide, and Samir, the porter. Unfortunately we had to turn back due to too much snow, but Pemba still tried to give us the best experience of the trek. We really enjoyed our trip with magical nepal and will surely keep Pemba & Samir in mind for another trek in the beautiful Nepalese Himalayas. Dannebad!
