Highlights

Arrive in Kathmandu (1,400 m/4,593 ft).

Ace the Himalaya - Our airport representative will be receiving you at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu and s/he will be displaying an Ace the Himalaya signboard outside the airport terminal. You will be then transferred to your respective hotel in our private tourist vehicle.

Note: Either on Day 01 or Day 02, there will be a pre-trek meeting in our office. During the meeting, we will introduce your trek leader/guide. Please make sure you bring the passport, three copies of passport-size photos and a readable copy of your travel insurance policy. During this meeting, please clear the due balance, if any, and sign the legally binding trip form as well as the non-liability disclaimer.

Fly to Lukla (2,804 m/9,199 ft). Trek to Phakding (2,610 m/8,562 ft)- 3 to 4 hours.

Phakding - An early morning start takes us to the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu for the 35-minute scenic flight to Tenzing and Hillary Airport at Lukla (2,804 m). On arrival at the airport, the guide will brief you and introduce our porters before we begin our trek towards Phakding (2,610 m).

After landing we have time to explore the village while our Sherpa crew sort and load our trekking equipment. Then we begin our trek by descending towards the Dudh Kosi River where we join the main trail to Namche Bazaar, located just above Chaunrikharka (2,713 m). Walking is easy. After passing through the small village of Ghat (2,550 m), it is a short walk to Phakding.

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m/ 11,289 ft) – 5 to 6 hours.

Namche Bazaar - We continue trekking along the banks of the Dudh Kosi, crossing the majestic river many times on exciting suspension bridges laden with prayer flags. After entering the Sagamartha National Park, the trail climbs steeply with breathtaking views. Namche Bazaar (considered the Gateway to Everest) is home to many quality restaurants, hotels, lodges, shops, money exchange services, internet cafes and bakeries. Namche is the biggest town along the Everest trail.

Namche Bazaar Acclimatization Day

Namche Bazaar - We will spend a day in Namche Bazaar in order to acclimatize and adjust to the thinning air. We will trek a short distance to a museum that is celebrated for its exhibits of the traditional customs of the Sherpa people. We will also hike up the Syangboche Airport and the Everest View Hotel, one of the highest-placed hotels in the world. From this point, we can see rewarding views of the Himalayas including Mt Everest.

Trek to Phorste Thanga (3,680 m/12,073 ft ) – 5 to 6 hours.

Trek to Machherma (4,470 m/14,665 ft) – 5 to 6 hours.

Trek to Gokyo (4,790 m/15,715 ft) – 5 to 6 hours.

Trek to Gokyo Ri (5,483 m/17,841 ft) and Back to Gokyo – 5 to 6 hours.

Gokyo Ri - Early in the morning, we have a steep climb up to the top of Gokyo Ri at an elevation of 5,483 m. There are ample rewards for those who attempt this trip – you get stunning views of the super Gokyo valley, the massive Ngozumpa glacier and an incredible panoramic view of the whole Khumbu Himalayas, including the giants Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Cho-Oyu and Gychung Kang.

Trek to Thangna (4,500 m/14,763 ft) – 4 to 5 hours.

Cross Cho La pass (5,300 m/17,388 ft) and Trek to Dzongla (4,710 m/15,452 ft) – 7 to 8 hours.

Trek to Lobuche (4,910 m/16,108 ft) – 4 to 5 hours.

Lobuche - A rather easier and shorter trekking route will take us to Lobuche after 4 hours of trekking.

Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,365 m/ 17,602 ft) and then Back to Gorak Shep (5,180 m) – 7 to 8 hours.

Everest Base Camp - This is a big and difficult day walk along the Khumbu Glacier and up to Everest Base Camp at 5,365 m, the closest you can get to Mt. Everest without mountaineering equipment. During spring, there will likely be expedition teams about to attempt the summit. The view of the Khumbu Icefall from Base Camp is spectacular. We return back to Gorak Shep for the night.

Hike Up to Kala Patthar (5,555 m/ 18,225 ft) Early in the Morning and Trek Down to Pheriche (4,200 m) – 7 to 8 hours.

Kala Pattar - This will be one of the most difficult yet rewarding days of the trek. Most of the morning is spent climbing Mt. Kala Patthar, a small peak at 5,555 m. The ascent is demanding but the climber gets the most magnificent mountain panorama: Everest, the highest point on the planet at 8,848 m, towers directly ahead and on all sides loom the giants such as Nuptse, Pumori, Chagatse, Lhotse and countless others. We make a quick descent to Gorak Shep and have hot breakfast, and then trek down to Pheriche.

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m/ 11,289 ft) – 7 to 8 hours.

Namche Bazaar - Leaving the mountains behind us, our descent takes us through Pangboche and Tengboche before continuing to the town of Namche Bazaar. We arrive back to Namche in the afternoon.

Trek to Lukla (2,804 m/9,199 ft) – 6 to 7 hours.

Lukla - This is our last day of trekking as we return to Lukla where the trek began. We enjoy this time to reflect on the trek as a group and the personal achievement of all those who took part. The afternoon is free, so you can wander about, relax and enjoy a hot shower! In the evening, have a few celebratory drinks and dance with your trekmates.

Morning Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu

Kathmandu - Enjoying the last glimpse of the mountains we have recently visited, the 35 minutes scenic flight takes us back to Kathmandu. On arrival in Kathmandu, we are met and transferred back to our starting hotel.

If you are interested in extending the trip, there are many options such as Chitwan jungle safari, river rafting adventure, Kathmandu shopping tour, mountain biking and other activities.

Comprehensive hassle free trekking experience in the Himalayas - We hired ace the Himalaya as our trip organizer for a 14 day Everest base camp and Gokyo Ri trek. Our guide Mr Rajendra Neupane was very professional and adept with 17+ years of experience leading diverse trekking groups. The team at ace the Himalayas was very proactive and flexible in terms of assisting us on the trek. There were times when our guide was able to bring their experience to the fore to help us make better decisions during the trek. Prior to the trek, the ACE team conducted pre-trek briefing covering what to expect and got us ready for the trek. If you are looking for a memorable and worry free experience, I would recommend Ace the Himalayas.

Simply phenomenal!! - Ace the Himalaya is simply phenomenal! Our group of seven recently booked a trekking tour with them to explore the Himalaya, and I have to say, it was an experience like no other for us. Their tour guides Raj, Narayan were and the crew members Sri, Peshal and Deepak were very knowledgeable and passionate to provide us the best possible experience for our 14 days adventure tour. This region operates plenty of tour companies, however, Ace the Himalaya is truly a cut above the rest when it comes to serving their customers on this adventurous hiking in this region. I highly recommend them to anyone considering to explore this exceptionally beautiful part of the world.

Amazing experience of a lifetime - The agency Ace the Himalayas was very informative from the beginning, telling me everything I needed to know beforehand and helping me through all the changes that come along with a trip (M y flight was canceled, and I have to arrive to Kathmandu a few days later, Airline also misplaced my luggage) they helped me in various ways, pick me up at the airport, change my flights to Ramechhap, hooked me up with accommodation and made me feel very safe and taken care of. Before the trip, I had a meeting with them in the office and they were very professional, making sure I had insurance making sure I understood how the trip was also giving me all the tips and details of what I had to bring with me. When I was traveling with them, they supplied good transportation to places, they also took care of me with very experienced guides: Dilraj my main guide, a Porter named Hemraj and a Mountain guide Pimba. Also, another guy that was with the group named Pasang took care of me, even though he was with another group and he was very respectful, helpful, and informative during the whole trip. The whole group were amazing. They were very experienced. They were very joyful. They spoke English very well and they try their best to give us a very great experience every single day. They became friends. After finishing the trip is Malaya gather me and some other travelers and ask us how our experience was what information we could give them that will enrich the experience for later costumers. The office team were also great I assisting me during the whole trip, cheers to them! I totally believe that these local agency would be one of the best make a trip with! Congratulations to them and hopefully if I’m lucky, I will see them soon in the following years 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
