- Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - The sacred tooth relic of Buddha was brought to the island from India and has been held by royalty ever since. Initially preserved in Kandy in a structure built by Vimmaladarmasurya, the founder of the capital, it was later relocated to a newly rebuilt structure by his successors. The temple is situated above the moat, with a stone staircase leading through a tunnel to the drummers’ courtyard. Visitors are greeted by a two-story building, with the upper floor housing the gem-studded gold casket that contains Buddha’s sacred tooth relic.
- Royal Botanical Gardens - Located in Peradeniya, the Royal Botanical Gardens are the oldest formal gardens in Sri Lanka. Situated about 5 kilometers west of Kandy in the Central Province, at an elevation of 460 meters above sea level, these gardens boast the impressive Avenue of Royal Palms. Covering 147 acres (60 hectares), Peradeniya is the largest garden in Sri Lanka and offers a leisurely stroll through its grounds. The gardens are home to nearly 4,000 different plant species.

The first stop on the tour is the majestic Ranawana Rajamaha Viharaya Temple. Following this, we will proceed to your second tour destination, the ancient hill capital of Sri Lanka, Kandy. After a self-funded lunch break, spend the afternoon in the magical city of Kandy, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here we’ll see the UNESCO-listed Temple of the Tooth with its golden roof, explore the Kandy market, and enjoy a cultural show. We’ll wind down the day with a dinner stop (at your own expense) on the return trip to Colombo.
