Now you know why... Tea Ceremony is a must experience program . - The tea ceremony has to be experience to really understand not only the beverages, but the flow and the background story of the whole process. Yes, the Matcha tea is one of the highlight, but the ceremony itself, with its highly crafted process, has its own meaning and history on why both host and guest can respect each other. From the way you hold the bowl, etc has its own meaning and it is cleary explained by our host/guide. This program will bring you back to the old Japanese era with a modern approach. Great and highly recommend

Great experience - This was a wonderful, informative experience. Perfect for anyone who may not be versed in all of the appropriate protocols and steps, our hosts did a great job of accommodating our group, all of which had never experienced a tea ceremony before. Both hosts spoke fluent English and Japanese, and took the time to explain each step while maintaining the utmost respect for the traditions as well as the tools used to make and drink the tea. The atmosphere was formal yet relaxed. The hosts answered all our questions and made us feel relaxed as we attempted to mix the matcha with the water ourselves. Highly recommended for anyone.

Great experience - It was a very enriching experience. I very much enjoyed having the ceremony commented as it was performed as it provides insight on the history and meaning. It was great to be able to ask questions and be thought how to be a guest. (You are allowed to take pictures during the ceremony.) You get to have delicious sweet from a renowned local confectionery. Your first cup of tea is made by the ceremony host. The second you are thought how to prepare the tea yourself (just the tea not the whole ceremony). Great value for the price when you are lucky to be in a small group.

Beautiful and warmly led experience, highly recommended! - A warm and inclusive experience. The host explained everything very well and led the ceremony in a very friendly yet respectful way. There was time for questions and hands-on experience too. We discovered afterwards that you can purchse a tea making set too (no sales pitch) and choose the colours and patterns. We will remember this experience fondly.

You should go - One of the highlights of our trip to Kanazawa. Very well explained, felt like we learnt a lot about the culture of tea ceremony. The treats and matcha were delicious. Around 50mins. Slightly pricey but would still recommend.

Nice intro to tea ceremony - Very wonderful experience in the beautiful gardens. I have been to traditional tea ceremonies in Japan before but my husband has not. The experience was just right and accessible to getting a glimpse of the tea ceremony.

Relaxing and learned so much! - Really worth while, good to try as an alternative to your morning coffee. It was relaxing, I felt welcomed and I learnt so much in the space of an hour. It's important to note that you need to pay entry to the gardens to get to the tea house which are well worth visiting as well but I had visited the gardens the day before so had to pay for the entry fee twice.
