- but seeing the city through a local’s eyes creates an entirely new perspective. Visit Utatsuyama Park, an expansive forest in the middle of the city with over 100 types of wildflowers, and explore Nishi Chaya, a residential road where geisha and maiko (apprentice geisha) live and train. Forego crowded Higashi Chaya in favor of storybook Kazuemachi, a riverside district lined with wood-built, feudal-era buildings, and stop for coffee at a trendy cafe.
Within 24 hours after booking you’ll receive a short questionnaire about your personality and interests. Based on your responses, you’ll be assigned a like-minded host. Kanazawa with Criselda - Criselda is a great communicator and proactive in making suggestions as to what might be of interest to. She is very engaging and knowledgeable. We had a lovely afternoon with her exploring beautiful Kanazawa.

So much fun!!! - This was such a great experience. Our guide, Megumi, was amazing. She was kind, funny, and knowledgeable. After filling out the questionnaire, we decided to visit the geisha area, Kenrokuen garden and Kanazawa Castle. She walked us through the fish market on the way back, pointed out local delicacies and helped us place our order. She sent us links to other area attractions and called to make reservations for us at the Ninja temple and a gold leaf class for the following days. Would 100% recommend Megumi to anyone considering booking a tour.

Highly recommended if you want to feel the city and its charm outside the crowds - Fumie was a great guide, she showed us the city from a different angle - less touristic, more local flavor which wax exactly what we were looking for.

Lovely experience, especially away from the hustle & bustle of the larger cities of Japan. - Akari was a treat to have as my guide for this tour. She was exceptionally knowledgeable about the history behind the sites she showed me. The extra bit of history about how a particular stone pagoda in the castle garden was related to the Imjin War was exceptionally surprising since that war is effectively unknown in the West.

A relaxing way to explore Kanazawa - Our guide Mo spoke excellent English and was very polite and helpful. He knew some great places to visit and it was so relaxing having a local guide us around. We especially loved visiting the Samurai house, Zen gardens, Kenroku-en gardens and Kanazawa pottery shops.

Day in Kanazawa - Our guide AKari was the best. She was friendly, knowledgeable, understanding to our pace and most of all we enjoyed being with her. We would recommend her highly. Such a beautiful personality. We felt so lucky to have met her.

The best tour...... - Best tour ever! Early evening into night time tour. The city is so beautiful and quiet at night. It was a full Flower Moon and the city could not have been more beautiful. My guide Mouri was kind, respectful and knowledgeable of all the hidden gems of Kanazawa. Evening tour was quiet, with few tourists out. Photo opportunities were every where. Thank you Mouri for taking me along to your special places!!
