Kananaskis Outfitters - Learn or improve your skiing technique, so you can maximize your time and enjoyment when out on the trail. Our 2-hour lessons will teach you the basics of classic skiing and have you ready to venture out on your own.
Lessons run from 10 am till 12 pm on Thursdays and Sundays, and 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
Rentals are not included, please let us know if you need to rent equipment.
Cost is $200 for 1 - 4 participants, $50 each for 5th and 6th participant. Please inform us if there will be a 5th or 6th participant joining.
Minimum age is 5 years old.

Additional Information
Learn or improve your skiing technique, so you can maximize your time and enjoyment when out on the trail. Our 2-hour lessons will teach you the basics of classic skiing and have you ready to venture out on your own. We will start on flat terrain to learn basic classic cross country skiing technique before skiing over to a small hill to learn how to navigate uphill and downhill techniques.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- We run the lesson rain or shine. Should our guides cancel the lesson due to unsafe trail conditions, an alternate date will be arranged.
- We expect guest to been in good health, and complete an Alberta COVID health declaration prior to departure of the lesson.

Great value - I had a great lesson with Michelle, she was quick to assess my skill level and adjust the lesson to provide the most value. Her explanations and instruction were clear and easy to follow. I would highly recommend, great value for the personal instruction.

Excellent service & equipment for renting x-country ski gear! - We rented cross country skiing equipment from Kananaskis Outfitters. It is a very convenient location to rent equipment on your way to whatever activity you choose. The staff are very friendly and were extremely helpful in fitting us with our equipment.

Cross country skiing - We had a great day. The staff were really helpful. We got ski rentals and were directed to a freshly groomed trail close by. We will do this again!

Great experience! - Michelle was awesome, super patient with my wife and I. The lesson gave us a very thorough "taste" of cross-country skiing.
We're going to be buying our own skis, we loved it that much.

Cross country ski lesson - As a novice cross country skier, I was very happy with our lesson. Michelle was our instructor and she was very helpful for working on a solid technique and skiing “etiquette”. She was also patient & kind with my children. I would totally recommend booking with her!!

A School Fieldtrip to Remember - Our guides/instructors, Dayna and Michelle, were great with my class of 22 fourth graders. They were encouraging and super supportive of the children who needed extra help, and the trail that Dayna and Michelle led us on was a perfect fit for the varied skill levels of the group. Most of my students had never cross-country skied before. By the end of our field trip, they were all confident and capable skiers and had come to absolutely love the sport.

Accommodative and Lively Tour Guide - Great Customer Service - In addition to snowshoeing on Christmas eve, my parents and I booked the cross-country skiing tour. However, since they had never skied before and since they have no sports background, they just went back and forth on the flat track, while I went on the cross-country tour with Dayna. I like that Dayna accommodated my parents by letting them remain on the flat track instead of forcing them into the tour. I would like to see Kananaskis Outfitters offer multi-day or multi-week lessons as well as the cross-country tours as the multi-day or multi-week lessons will better help people like my parents learn cross-country skiing.
