- Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine - The shrine is dedicated to Hachiman, the patron god of the Minamoto family and of the samurai in general. The deified spirits of the ancient Emperor Ojin who has been identified with Hachiman, Hime-gami and Empress Jingu are enshrined at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine.

Just south of Tokyo, lays the beautiful and historical Kamakura.
Kamakura’s temples and shrines are home to gardens that are beautiful in any season. You can view the ocean from the highest point of Hasedera temple and write your wish on an oyster shell. The over 11 meters tall Great Buddha is an icon of the area residing in Kotokuin Temple. Stop by the old Komachi shopping street and try some Hatosabure, dove shaped biscuits.
Each tour is customizable and private. Once you place a reservation, your personal guide will be in touch with you to tailor your trip to you. You can view 2 to 3 sights on this trip. If you wish to extend your time to see more, please contact us directly for extensions (5,000 yen per hour with guide). Transportation time is included in the 4 hours.

Insightful tour of Kamakura - We spent a beautiful half day in this tour. Our guide Shinji, was very helpful and guided us to some of the hidden treasures of Kamakura. The more famous spots were crowded so having such an insider to show us different temples was great. He was able to clarify us various aspects of the Japanese culture and history and helped us with hints for our further itinerary, for which we were very thankful.

Boys Trip - Great tour with Yuki!!! Despite the rain , it was a wonderful and educational tour. Yuki is the best tour guide and I highly recommend her.

Shinji gave us a great tour; a great day in Kamakura - The tour was great; the town of Kamakura is lovely, and we loved exploring its various alleys. Going inside of the Daibutsu Buddha was a big highlight. Shinji was an excellent guide! He was very friendly and we all learned a lot from him, including all about shrines and temples, and the practice of worship in Japan. We would definitely recommend this tour to others!

Wonderful Half-Day in Kamakura - My family and I just participated in the half day tour of Kamakura with our guide, Andy. Prior to the trip, he reached out to coordinate the sites we were most interested in visiting. He was very informative and responded immediately to all of our questions. It was a joy to talk with him during our tour; he was very personable and well informed about each location we chose. We had a great day and would highly recommend Andy to anyone looking to visit Kamakura!

A wonderful, worthwhile experience - We went to see the Great Buddha, The Bamboo Garden and the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. We had an amazing time with Andy, who personlaized our tour and made it an unforgettable experience.
We had great communication even before the tour started and felt like we were in good hands from the start - Andy is knowledgeable and helped us understand the history of the places we visited by using helpful visual tools he designed himself amd by answering all our questions. The tour also started and finished on time, which helped us to plan our day.
My husband and I would recommend this tour, and having Andy as your guide, with great enthusiasm.

Tour with Higashi - Our trip to Kamakura with Higashi exceeded our expectations. She reached out to us before our visit to inquire about our interests for the visit, and then incorporated all of those into the tour. We learned a lot about the sites, history, religions, and culture of the area. Higashi cares about her work and makes you feel very welcomed to the region. A must do!

A Terrific Day Trip from Tokyo - We had a wonderful time with Yumi, our tour guide, as we made our way through Kamakura. Since we were coming from Tokyo, she met us at the train station, and was able to put together a great itinerary as we only had vague ideas of what to see beyond the Kotokuin Great Buddha. She was very knowledgeable of the sites we saw, and was very helpful in getting us from place to place, taking us down picturesque pathways and side streets
Moreover, she was super patient with our feisty 2-year-old, and even took some pictures for us. Altogether a great experience!
