The temple complex features several important structures, including the Dharma Hall (Hatto), the Main Hall (Butsuden), and the Hojo, the former abbot’s living quarters. Kencho-ji is renowned for its picturesque garden, designed by the famous Zen monk and garden designer Muso Soseki.
