Beautiful views and organized operator! - The operator informed me that rail was unavailable and asked if I was still keen to proceed traveling via intercity bus. He gave very clear instructions and the pickup at Kalambaka was prompt. I like how the guide and driver were very experienced and took many wonderful photos for me which is rare particularly when I am traveling solo. The bus from Kalambaka to Thessaloniki was the same vehicle even though two separate tickets were issued and made it easy for me not to have to change bus at Trikala station. I recommend visiting Meteora during autumn as it is offpeak (lesser visitors) and and the weather is cooler. The whole tour takes a very long time and be sure to stay hydrated and keep some snacks with you when you are planning to join this tour.

Brilliant tour. The best tour guide. Amazing scenery. - We took the train from Athens to Meteora on the Hellenic line. Although part of the tour, you take the train from Athens without a guide. Instructions are easy to follow. We were greeted at the train station in Meteora by the bubbly and knowledgeable Xrisa. The bus was clean and in good order with good air-conditioning. Insider information provided by Xrisa before each monastery was accurate and insightful. We were able to purchase food in the town which we took to the first monastery to eat in immaculate gardens. She knew the geological storey of the rocks on which the monasteries are built. She spoke English and German very well. This is a trip you must do in a small group. Very highly recommended.
