Upon arrival in Amboseli, we will embark on a game drive to spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, cheetahs, warthogs, ostriches, buffaloes, and more. Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world, dominates the skyline. As Mount Kilimanjaro provides a stunning backdrop, we will admire the wildlife and scenery of the park. Enjoy a buffet lunch at OLTUKAI Lodge. After a short early afternoon viewing drive, we will exit the park and head back to Nairobi, arriving in the early evening.

This park is renowned worldwide for its significant population of African elephants, often seen in herds exceeding 100 individuals. Notably, the large bull elephants boast some of the largest tusks in the animal kingdom. Additionally, visitors can spot abundant herds of buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, impalas, and warthogs. With such diversity, a thriving population of predators also resides in Amboseli. Solo female traveler. - Day safari. Was picked up from my hotel then others on the safari were picked up. Took a few hours to get to the park but it gave me time to enjoy the views and get to know my co-travelers. Our guide, Alex, was amazing. Saw tons of great wildlife as well as birds. The view of Mt Kilimanjaro with elephants in the foreground was the cherry on top.

Great safari!! - Our guide Calvin was extremely friendly and knowledgable. He provided a lot of relevant facts and anecdotes. We were lucky to see 3 of big 4 and a clear view of the kilimandjaro

Amboseli Views - Calvin was the best!! He drove us to Amboseli National Park and we had the absolute best time. He was patient, kind, and offered tons of information about the park. I might add that he has impeccable driving skills too! I highly recommend!

Our guide Douglas was... - Our guide Douglas was very knowledgeable about the animals in the park, and he was able to spot them when we couldn't see anything . He was very helpful and kind. Also drove very safely.

Nice but be prepared - Very nice park, very nice staff, but be prepared for a rough ride, the ride from Nairobi to Amboseli is long and not smooth, if you suffer any back or bone problems, or car sickness you need to avoid. Other than this friendly staff, nice scenery, good park.

Amazing Day Tour to Amboseli....Skip the Shopping - The tour overall was good. The tour guide, Calvin, was friendly and knowledgable, and a very good driver. I finally realized my dream of seeing African elephants in Kenya, which was pretty amazing! The only reason that I am giving this tour 4 stars rather than 5 stars is the shop that we visited twice. The food was good there and the washrooms were very clean. However, the items we purchased were way overpriced. I saw a purse that I liked, and the lady said $50, negotiable. My husband went to pay, and she told him $150, and reduced it to $100 without my knowledge until later. I just found a similar one in the airport for $30. I feel very taken advantage of, and I wish we had just bought a few items at the airport on our way out.

Very long journey - 1. It’s an almost 15-16 hr journey (5-6 hrs each way) - and the drive is quite bumpy
2. Our guide Douglas was super friendly and knowledgeable
3. We didn’t get to see Kilimanjaro, it was a cloudy day. Make sure you check this before you go

Viator charges 300% more - Do not book through Viator... the other 5 people in my group all paid significantly less booking through other platforms. Viator charged almost 300% more.

Misleading and NOT fair - The park itself and the guide as a person were satisfactory.
However, I am rating this experience low due to misleading advertising. The tour was advertised as a 12-hour experience, but in reality, it lasted over 17 hours—starting with a pickup at 4:30 a.m. and returning to the hotel at 10:00 p.m. This extended duration was not due to traffic, as the agency is aware of the road conditions. Rather, it appeared that the guide and agency were not mindful of the timing or committed to accurate scheduling.
I had prior commitments in Nairobi at 8:00 p.m., which I missed because of the extended tour. I also booked a volcano tour for the following day, which I did not attend due to exhaustion from the previous day’s activities, resulting in a financial loss of $150. When I requested that the agency or Viator partially compensate for these losses owing to the misleading information, their response was that I had enjoyed myself and that they would not issue a refund.
While I enjoyed the opportunity to see the animals, I found the experience overshadowed by the misleading information and the subsequent dismissive attitude. In comparison, other agencies I have booked with for visits to Nairobi National Park and Hell's Gate have been professional, honest, and fair. Overall, this was not a positive experience.
