Highlights
  • The Great Mosque of Kairouan - The Great Mosque is the symbol of Kairouan. It is one of the oldest and most beautiful mosques in the world, one of the most impressive monuments in all of the Maghreb! Its religious prestige makes Kairouan the 4th holy city of Islam. We admire its imposing minaret, its majestic courtyard of impressive dimensions, surrounded by superbly drawn arcades and sheltering a sundial, and the high doors of richly carved cedar wood. They open onto the prayer rooms, adorned with dozens of marble columns. Built in 670, this architectural masterpiece whose appearance evokes an adobe fortress has inspired other mosques in the Maghreb.

Good tour, good guide - My tour guide and driver was Shauki. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He provided all the necessary details and fun facts along the tour. He even introduced me to the local sweets. He was also a very good photographer, and very willing to take photos. I really appreciated that. The tour was worth it. I took a private one so it was more relaxing, and indeed it was. Shauki allowed me to take as much time as I need at each location, and provided sufficient details at each location.

Great tour around some sites in Tunisia - Guide was great - super helpful and knowledgeable. It was a long day touring but the pace was unhurried and good for all of us. I wouldn't take small children on this tour - our teenager was fine though.

Fantastic overview of Tunisian sites - Excellent experience, Chaouki was a fantastic guide. We visited around Ramadan so sites closed early, but Chaouki put in the effort to get us to all the attractions. He even added an additional stop for sightings of flamingos. Highly recommended!!

Highly recommended experience! - The tour operator managed to organize this private tour on very short notice, and it was a wonderful experience. The guide (Nabil) was very knowledgeable and a great storyteller as he made all the explanations highly compelling. He and the driver were very nice and patient and agreed to make an additional stop in Kairouan. The tour never felt rushed, and we had enough time to take pictures and take breaks when needed. I recommend this comprehensive tour to anybody visiting Tunisia. Thank you very much for this wonderful day!

Best tour to take in all of Tunisia! Ask for Boutheina! - Little did I know that when I booked this tour that I would be the luckiest tourist in Tunisia. What an amazing, fast-paced, exhuberant, exciting showcase of Tunisia's attractions! Not to mention having the best tour guide Tunisia has to offer (I don't even need to meet the other guides)! Boutheina is the best! If you are looking to have a tour that includes all the history, the best photo spots, and a genuine love of her country that surrounds her like an aura, then ask for Boutheina. She actually made me want to come back and have another adventure in the future! Osama, our driver was excellent and got us to each place quickly and safely. It is a long day, so be prepared with some great walking shoes, multiple cameras/lenses, and questions ready to be asked. Book this tour today, especially if you are in Tunisia for a short stay!

Beautiful sights; helpful guide; awful car sickness; lackluster lunch - Our guide was very nice and gave us a lot of useful info, at his suggestion we visited Hamamet instead of Monastir to save driving time and see something similar but different. Unfortunately I got extremely carsick and spent most of the ride trying not to throw up. Prior to this trip, I'd spent a week driving in a minibus around Morocco and never got anywhere near as car sick; this is not normal for me. All of the weaving back and forth around other cars, doing triple-passes on two lane country roads, and alternating between accelerating and braking hard on highways was a bit much for me... but it's understandable given the tour needs to cover so much distance in one day. Still it would have been nice to be a bit less carsick. When I brought it up to our guide, he did kindly stop at a pharmacy for me to get motion sickness medicine (which was seriously appreciated), but perhaps there wasn't anything that could be changed about the driving, because it remained as trying as before. The sights themselves are definitely worth seeing; they are very nice. The lunch was a buffet selected by our driver, it was the least good (worst?) meal we had while dining out during our week in Tunisia, although it was also the second-most expensive (it wasn't bad by any means, the food seemed clean and provided sustenance, it just was not particularly good). There isn't really a better way to see all of these sights in one day so it is what it is, but be prepared for the realities.
