Fantastic tours with Tony - We went on three tours with Tony - the rafting, Sloth sanctuary and poisonous frogs; Rainforest walk; and a trip to Nicaragua to see a volcano. Each one was well worth the trip. Tony had lots of information to tell us. He knew where to look to see animals, special features and he was fun to be with. Thank you Tony!

SUNSET SNORKEL and MORE MORE MORE! - Lots of extras on this fun trip out in a semi-covered, speedy 30min motorboat boat ride to a pretty offshore snorkeling site. The tuna were roiling (like... crazy) and the captain and his crew had their tackle out as they cruised along at 20kph through the roils and got hit after hit on their gear. Our family pitched in to "help" reel in their catch-- a first for many of us catching these speedy blackfin tuna! We are used to much slower salmon, and trawling at 2-3kph! We passed a parrot sanctuary island (apparently... hard to see any parrots.. but the spindly, tall cactus were cool) to a tall, rocky pelican sanctuary island (LOTS of pelicans). We did our snorkel adventure from the boat in the waters surrounding that island. The red-headed crew member was a free diver who gleefully brought up specimens from the deep for us to hold (eg: octopus, porquipine fish, sea urchin, sea star, pencil urchin), and on our own we saw plenty of fish (the most we have seen snorkeling in the NW of Costa Rica-- including a weird column of enormous boxfish descending down to the depths 10m, as if they were in a Star Trek light getting beamed somewhere else) as well as a ray and a turtle. Tony provided a lot of colour commentary on everything we saw, answered all our questions with his good command of english, was uber enthusiastic and excited about everything we were seeing (he is very very proud of his country, which is lovely to see) and set us up with a post-swim plate of pineapple, taco ships, bean paste and salsa. A cooler filled with iced water and drinks was available to us through teh whole trip. We saw humpback whales blowing in the distance on our way out, and on our return trip, while we were stopped bringing in yet ANOTHER tuna, a huge adult passed 10m alongside us and then dove, waving its tail fluke. The sun set over to the west as we pulled into a wee bay and some small dolphin came to play in our wake. Magnificent Frigate Birds were overhead almost the whole time. It was a super-fun trip that we all thoroughoughly enjoyed and would heartily recommend.

Book Tony Expeditions NOW..! - I travelled to Guanacaste in August with my wife and 2 kids, We booked Tony Expeditions Jungle Cruise, Jungle Trek, sloth Sanctury, City Tour, Mega Combo and ATV Tour. This was the best decision we made when coming to Costa Rica. Every trip was great fun, Tony and Roy were excellent, i cannot praise them enough. It's not just the activity you book its everything in between from stopping whilst getting to your destination to point out the wildlife you would miss to the excellent local cuisine they provide on each trip. The Jungle Trek was the first trip and we was taken to a beautiful area of the forest, we was lucky enough to see Monkeys, lizards, a sloth, Crocodile to name a few, Tony was very knowledgeable and showed us many secrets held within, how the plants and nature work together to survive.we went to a restaurant which had a stunning view for a well deserved meal after, My kids both loved it. The ATV tour was great fun we spent a few hours travelling to the many beautiful beaches and coves in the area, Roy showed us where the local people live. We stopped at a local bar on the way home for a drink. Again a great trip. The Jungle Cruise was great we saw many crocodiles and local wildlife, the guide was great we then went to the Sloth Sanctury which was in the Rainforest and is amazing. It rained quite heavily when we was there but it only added to the experience, we saw multiple sloths and even a Pit Viper snake. The guide pointed out diffrent plants and trees on route which was very interesting. Our favourite trip was definatly the Mega Combo, starting with a horse trek to the zip lines. Each zip line was excellent some were very high over the canopy, we all enjoyed this experience. After the zip lines we tasted some local sugar cane drinks, coffee and local treats. My kids fed a cow local fruits which they loved. we were taken to the slide after which my daughters really enjoyed, its definatly the longest slide they have been on, very fast but enjoyable. Finally we went to the hot springs and chilled for an hr. Again a excellent trip. These are brief explanations of each trip and really need to be experienced to do them justice. If you are going to Guanacaste you should definatly book with Tony Expiditions you will not be disappointed. Shame we can only add 10 photos! Big shout to Both Tony and Roy, thanks for making our holiday, it was great to be showed around by you both.

Most amazing tour guides in Costa Rica. 💚Tony and Roy!!! - I cannot sing Tony’s praises loud enough! We used him for airport transportation and 3 different excursions. Started with sunset snorkel…..It was raining and cloudy and I had very little hope. But our tour guide Roy and the boat captain turned it all around for us!! Found great snorkeling spot where we saw lots of sea life. Boat captain even dove with us and made sure to show my kids some really neat things. Starfish, puffers, and even a tiny octopus. Found a pod of dolphins to watch with the sunset and cut up the best pineapple I’ve ever had. Second experience was the river trip/sloth hike. Amazing!!! It’s quite a drive from the resort but tony made sure everyone was comfortable and even stopped for bathroom breaks and helped me pick out some authentic Costa Rican pastries in the store. Made it to the river to see howlers, lots of birds and huge crocodiles! Once loaded back in van we made our way to a local restaurant where we had amazing local cuisine in the most adorable little place. It even had a butterfly garden attached that tony gave us a tour of and explained all the plants and local butterflies. Then a quick drive to the sloth sanctuary. Our sanctuary guide and Roy made sure my daughter who was in a wheelchair was able to do the hike. Sloths are her favorite thing on earth and they made it happen, even pushing her the whole time and carrying her up steps. I could have walked that trail forever. It was stunning. Last adventure was the ATV tour. Again the guys went out of their way to make our trip amazing. Tony figured out my kids love for dogs and brought his own puppy with us so that my girls could play and snuggle him! Oso was the cutest! Saw so many beautiful beaches and local villages. Loved getting to hear all the history and customs here. If we ever make it back to CR we will 1000% book with tony again!
