20 - Our recipes are straightforward and easy to follow, allowing you to recreate them for your family and friends once you return home. The ingredients are readily available in your country and are plant-based, making this class suitable for vegetarians as well.
In addition to crafting Mochi and Wagashi, we will explore the history of Mochi and teach you various ways to enjoy it.
In this lesson, participants will learn how to make mochi using glutinous rice flour. With the mochi, you will create strawberry Daifuku (using Pineapple or Kiwi when strawberries are out of season), and Dango (mochi balls on skewers) along with two types of “Nerikiri wagashi”—traditional Japanese sweets. The motifs will change with the seasons.
You will learn to shape the dough into seasonal motifs. The dough is pre-made and colored, but you will have access to a tutorial video.
After the lesson, you can savor your creations with a bowl of matcha green tea, prepared with guidance, or take them home in a special box.
