Additional Information

Situated 140 miles (225 kilometers) away from Amman, Petra formerly played a pivotal role in old Arabian commerce routes. Pass by Minor Petra, a stopover for Nabatean caravans before proceeding to the primary city. Your exploration of this eerily beautiful location starts with a stroll through the Siq, which served as the main entryway to the city in the past. It’s a remarkably long, deep, and narrow gorge noted for its striking natural beauty. Enclosed by cliffs that extend up to 263 feet (80 meters) high, the Siq spans three-quarters of a mile (1.2 kilometers).

  • Purchase the Jordan Pass in advance for discounted entry and access to other Jordanian attractions.

The Dead Sea to Petra - If you don’t have a lot of time, this trip is for you (we opted just for the transportation). Mohammad was our driver and he was great! Very knowledgeable, answered all our questions and provided us with a portable wifi to take into Petra. He picked us up right on time at one of the Dead Sea hotels and drove us to Petra along the Dead Sea highway. Stopping along the way to take amazing photos of the Dead Sea and the surrounding areas! We drove through the mountains with stunning views of the valleys and dessert. Ask for Mohammad, highly recommend him. Yalla!

Tour petra, dead sea - Amazing place and we have the best driver (Shadi). He is thoughtful, he explained us interestings facts about the places we visited, also history about amann and he answered every question we had. Definitely we had the best driver and guide!!! The car was in the best conditions and the car had wifi! The weather was so hot, fortunately he offered us bottles of water all the way. We felt very comfortable with the service. I recommend this agency and of course if you have lucky, Shadi will accompanying you. Tip: if you don’t have a lot of time, use the backdoor tour (from little Petra).

Enjoyed this trip from start to end! - First of all, I was very lucky to have been assigned Mr. Raed Owaida as my trip driver. He is very knowledgeable, informative, and welcoming (shout out to you Uncle Raed and thank you very much!) As for Petra, I don't think this experience can ever be described in words. There is so much to see, learn, explore, and observe to the point where 2-3 hours of walking will pass by without noticing. An astonishingly beautiful place with a rich history. Tips: Wear comfortable/sports clothes, walking/running shoes, and a backpack for water bottles and snacks. Make sure to start your trip as early as possible in the morning (6 am, 7 am, or 8 am max) so that you have time to go through all locations within Petra without any rush. Lastly, don't end your trip at Qasr Al-Bint, I recommend continuing until you reach The Monastery (Ad-Dier). However, you need to know that you will be climbing 850 steps to reach The Monastery so be careful if you have any health issues. Yes, it is exhausting, but definitely worth it. I enjoyed every bit of this trip and would HIGHLY recommend it.
