Phenomenal food and art tour - Nokia did an amazing job at showing us the beautiful art that was in the Maboneng precinct. I had never seen such street art before. The food was great too. Make sure to come hungry!

Great tour, great food, great guide - A friend and I really enjoyed this tour. Our tour guide was Romeo and there was one other couple on our tour. Romeo shared a lot of information about the neighborhoods and the art work. The street art was impressive and the food was really, really good. We stopped at 4 locations to try Nigerian, South African, Ghanaian, and Ethiopian food. Definitely come hungry. The portions are huge. You basically get a meal at each location. As a vegetarian I worried that there wasn’t going to be much for me to eat, but there was plenty of things for me to try. The meeting point was under construction when we arrived, so it seemed a little sketchy, but everyone was really friendly and Romeo was super personal. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a taste of Joburg.

The Real Deal - The food was amazing. This is not a tour of bougie food. It is real African food that the locals enjoy. I love to find that genuine authentic food that makes someone craving for home. This tour gives you that. The tour guide Nsoki was fun and knowledgeable. They just need to make sure there is drink option if you don’t drink alcohol.

Interesting, but not all that was expected. - We bought this experience for our friends who celebrated their 60th birthday. They reported that their guide was knowledgable and most pleasant and that it was an interesting experience for them to walk and learn so much about the city. The buildings and art was interesting for them, as well as the history. They found the eating experiences different and the food tasty. They visited only three restaurants Nigerian, Ethiopian and Ghana and not all the restaurants listed. We also paid for a beer tasting, but they only had South African beers offered to them so did not feel they had that experience. They mentioned that it was a lot of walking and that when they were finished they were quite relieved. But overall, it was a good experience for them and not something they would have done themselves.
