This is a popular tour that has a combination of a short Johannesburg city tour and a Soweto tour. Soweto is a vibrant city with diverse cultures and plenty of entertainment and rich history. You will learn about and see the iconic heritage sites that have significance of their existence today and get to enjoy lunch at one of the local restaurants.

Highlights
  • Houghton Estate - After pick-up from Johannesburg surrounding area. Our first stop is Houghton exploring the Northern suburbs of Johannesburg along the way, upon arrival we stop for a photo opportunity overlooking Johannesburg from the top.
  • Constitution Hill Human Rights Precinct - Arrive at Constitutional Hill proceed and enjoy an hour guided tour conducted by the site representative.
  • Newtown - On route to Main Street where we will learn about the Mining District, we drive past Mandela Bridge linking Braamfontein and Newtown business areas.
  • Standard Bank Gallery - An hour of open-air museum tour at Main Street within the heart of Johannesburg corporate district also homes to offices of some world’s largest mining companies.
  • Apartheid Museum - Continue to Apartheid Museum and as we arrive, we are gently greeted by the seven fundamental values which are presented by the pillars in the first courtyard.
  • FNB Stadium - We view FNB Soccer Stadium known as Soccer City built carrying a great element of “Calabash or African Pot” located in Nasrec out of Soweto.
  • Diepkloof Park - We continue to stop for photo opportunities at the “Welcome To Soweto” sign in Diepkloof. As we proceed through Diepkloof expensive houses known by the locals as “Diepkloof Expensive”, we encounter a hostel build for Black Men mostly populated by the Zulu tribe.
  • Hector Pieterson Museum and Memorial - Thereafter we make way to Hector Peterson Museum, honoring the Soweto Uprisings on 16 June 1976. Those hundreds of children and youth lost their lives while protesting against the Apartheid education system.
  • Vilakazi Street - Proceed to Vilakazi Street a well-known street for local restaurants and home to two Nobel-Prize winners, to visit Mandela House and Desmond Tutu House.
  • Walter Sisulu Square - After an experience at Vilakazi Street, we continue to Kliptown passing through Maponya Mall named after Soweto’s big businessman Richard Maponya. Visit the local informal settlements of Kliptown where our local representative Nkuli the owner of a shelter named The Shark. Guests will be guided through the local area and interacting with the locals sharing their stories and Africa Beer.
  • Sandton - We proceed to make way back to drop off guests at their picked -up location.
