Mapungubwe National Park, situated at the junction of the Shashe and Limpopo rivers, is a prospective transboundary park including South Africa, Botswana, and Zimbabwe. The park offers visitors an opportunity to explore Mapungubwe Hill (a World Heritage Site), its interpretation center, and a walk along an elevated pathway through the trees. Mapungubwe National Park is home to a vast variety of large African game species. When the Limpopo River’s water level is low, these animals freely traverse to Botswana and Zimbabwe and back.

Current inhabitants consist of; elephants, hippos, white rhinos, lions, leopards, cheetahs, Cape wild dogs, spotted hyenas, brown hyenas, elands, blue wildebeests, kudus, zebras, bushbucks, waterbucks, impalas, klipspringers, duikers, steenboks, red hartebeests, oryx, giraffes, warthogs, bush pigs, aardvarks, and baboons.
