All-inclusive overnight stay, worth the detour - Great fun! They drive you most of the way and then you can hop into the jeep for the jeep safari. You will have your luggage in the jeep while they drift on the dunes, very fun but probably would not recommend for small children as you won’t have enough hands to hold them. They also give you a break in the dunes and take your photos. As you reach the village, the host will point out some of the local fauna and history. Got home and took a break, probably the best chai I had all trip. The huts are beautiful and spacious, independent bathroom in each and a large bed. They took us for a camel ride and showed us the sunset from the fields. Camel ride is maybe 30-45 minutes, and they stop to take your photos. Beware, camels are very tall! But the ride was great. After our ride, the host let us help take the camels to drink water and then station them at their feeding bowls. Very fun and the camels are well cared for, total of 4 males of varying ages. The host family includes three brothers, their elderly mother, their wives and their kids, plus one family friend. Delicious, homemade vegetarian dinner and they let us try our hands at rolling rotis. After dinner, we chose to have the day beds (manjhas) set up outside to sleep on (they put extra bedding, pillows and quilts on them). The moon was really bright that night and so were the stars. Your room stays available so you can go into your hut at any point in the night such as if it gets too cold. Had to leave early in the morning because of our schedule so they woke up early to make our breakfast and made sure we were ready in time. Overall, very welcoming family who has made a lot of adjustments to be great hosts. Would recommend for adults and families, ok for young kids but will need an adult with them in the camel ride and might not be able to enjoy the jeep safari with little kids. Keep in mind that the price you see reflects the extra accommodations they’ve built, the food, the animal care, and the drives there and back. Absolutely worthwhile detour, one of our favourites days.

Camel safari + overnight stay - We had a splendid time with Raju and his family. The jeep safari was thrilling and the camel ride very relaxing. The food, area and housing were all very nice too. Would recommend this trip if you've spent a couple of days in Jodphur (or any other city) and you want to get out to the countryside for a while.

Amazing rural experience - I had an experience so exceptional that even my wallet didn’t complain! Our adventure kicked off when a member of the Balaji family swooped in to pick us up from the station—thank goodness, because I was starting to consider a very intense game of hide and seek with the city map. Staying with the Raju family felt like being at a five-star hotel run by your favorite aunts; the food was so good it could make a food critic weep, the ambiance had me feeling like I should’ve brought a fancy hat, and their hospitality was so warm, I almost forgot I wasn’t at a family reunion! I would definitely, absolutely recommend this tour—unless you don’t like fun, in which case, maybe stay home and count your socks!

A fantastic experience - The Raju family were warm and accommodating hosts. We stayed overnight in their cosy huts which enjoy modern washrooms attached. The location is beautiful, the camel safari is great fun, and it’s a great way to behin to understand life on the edge of the desert. We enjoyed delicious meals in the family home, met the locals and were privileged to share the experience. Transport to and from Jodhpur was comfortable and efficient, with very good drivers.

Authentic family visit - The trip was great, it is a nice place to stay with a very nice family. The food was good and the camel trip was pleasant. They had both regular toilet and dope paper. The bedroom is fine, probably better to sleep outside. Unfortunately, we could not because of the rain. It is not luxurious luxury but good standard.

The ultimate extraordinary experience - This trip to India took me to many tourist spots in North India, and the place the children were most pleased with was this safari tour. It was a wonderful experience combining Indian life with nature. I speak almost no English, but the family here used translators and tried to communicate as much as they could, so I didn't feel any inconvenience. I don't need anything extra. If you want to be detoxified both mind and body, I would love you to go.
