When arriving do this first… - Best first thing to do when arriving in a new city! I love getting an overview of the city, orienting myself and learning some facts to understand the place. Joberg, or as I’ve also heard Jocie is beautiful. What surprised me was all the beautiful trees in the city, the kindness of people, the global influence of many prominent businesses, the music and at the heart of it is how Nelson Mandela was able to transform apartheid through peaceful demonstrations. Highly recommend when arriving taking the hop on hop off bus to understand the city. Thanks Josie!

Soweto tour for the win! - We went on the regular hop on hop off bus which had nice views and was a great way to see the city, but we enjoyed the Soweto tour way more the guide was super entertaining and engaging and we felt safe the whole time, I think he told us to call him DC anywho he did a great job teaching us about Soweto we just wish we had more time in Soweto (we could have stayed and waited for the next bus) but next time we will just book the half day tour in Soweto…. As long as we get the same tour guide 😁

Excellent tour - The tour was fab. Buses very clean and drivers helpful. Soweto tour was fascinating and our guide Mpoh was enthusiastic and extremely knowledgable- he made the whole trip much more interesting. We were worried about safety but were well looked after throughout the whole trip. The Apartheid Museum is a must - we were there over 3 hours and didn’t get to see everything. It’s a harrowing part of the history of SA but it’s important that people realise what happened - we learnt a lot.

Jo'burg and Soweto - Good tour for just arriving in the city and not really knowing where to start. I did the separate Soweto tour add on and it was totally worth it! I had no idea it had so much history or that there was even a middle class there.

Very Interesting - Whilst not as good as it's Cape Town cousin, only because the scenery is plainer and there seems less to see, it's interesting and good to get your geography and sights organised, hard to get to locations to get on it, we had to walk around 1km to get to the Hilton, and were not able to get back to Sandton until after 4pm as there is only 1 bus back there (we took Uber as it was around 1pm), still quite interesting

Nice tour - The sightseeing tours are always good ways to see a city and this is no different. Its good value and takes in a large proportion of the city. Unfortunately for us, places like the museum were closed (warned in advance of closures Mondays and Tuesdays) but there aren't many appetising stops versus some other cities. That said, it is still a lovely bustling city with a lot going on, just maybe more of a business location perhaps. The commentary was good too but occasionally would drop out as if it had lost reception or something. I would still recommend as a way to see the city.
