Amazing Experience: Praying the Best for Jasper - *It is 7-25-24 as I type this. Forrest fires forced evacuations just days after we visited. We are hoping for the best for Skytram staff and all the residents and businesses of Jasper. The ride up is breathtaking. The hike to the mountain's summit was even better. For those with mobility challenges, there is a short boardwalk loop at the top. The shortest (steepest) hike is around 1.3km (one way). There are alternate routes that extended the hike to up to 2km each way. Difficulty? Though you do not need to be an athlete, a level of physical fitness is required. We saw people into their 70s on the hike and at the summit. Many people (though not most) had hiking boots and walking sticks. We are a mid-50s couple with children 10 and 6. It was very "doable" with just sneakers (running shoes/tennis shoes). Stopping MANY times to take pictures or just enjoy the view (and catch our breath), the full hike took less than two hours. There is a cafe and washrooms (toilet) at the top. Parking is free.

An amazing way to view the Rockies - This trip was excellent - a fabulous way to see the Rockies all around Jasper. Great for the scenery, & alpine flowers growing all over Whistlers summit. You can walk to the summit (or not!) or just wander & sit & contemplate the amazing vistas. I went with a friend in a wheelchair & staff couldn't have been more helpful. There is a short boardwalk from the the tram at the top giving excellent views, & washrooms which were accessible. Base camp facilities are good too. A very enjoyable trip!

Beautiful - One of the highlights of our holiday! We were lucky enough to go on a sunny day and the views from the top were spectacular.

Amazing - It took us around 10 minutes to drive from our downtown hotel in Japer to the Skytram It was a beautiful clear day and although we got there pretty early we had a 90 minute wait. Clearly it is very popular The ride to the top was very smooth and took 7 minutes The views from the top were totally stunning and well worth the cost of the Skytram

Great tram ride! - Great experience despite we started with nice chilly weather then snow fell while we're on the top! Fun experience

What a view! - It was very easy to have this booked in advance. We walked to the top after taking the Skytram (not the easiest walk, but worth it). The view is spectacular!

Awesome views - Amazing cable car ride up a mountain to Whistlers Peak. Incredibly views from the top with the option of walking right up to the top of the peak but the snow was too deep when we were there so we didn't head any further. There's a cafe and shop at the top selling usual souvenir items. Viewing platform runs 360 degrees around the top with views on all sides.

Incredible Views, Less than Enjoyable Ride - The views from the top are second to none but the ride up and down the mountain in the skytram was less than enjoyable. We were packed in like sardines with not enough room to even turn and look out the windows (30 people and several dogs in the tram on the way up and 26 plus strollers on the back back down). It was a beautiful fall day in Jasper and the ride up and down didn’t detract from the beauty we were able to take in at the top but after riding the gondolas in Banff and Lake Louise, I was surprised by the sheer number of people riding in the skytram at one time.

A reminder of yesterday - It's a bit of a throwback - quite an oldfashioned set up with one car going each way. When you get to the top there's really not that much to do unless you want to go to the top of the peak. There are rumours it has been bought and will be updated soon. It kind of needs it but still has some old alpine charm

Stuck at the top due to breeze - Restaurant has terrible food at high prices (but that is to be expected on the top of a mountain without competition). Unfortunately the fires clouded our view. Can happen. What also happened was that the wind was suddenly too strong (only 4 beaufort!) and they stopped the sky tram until further notice. Around 200 people were stuck at the top. No indication how long this would last, no food or drinks. They said we would get food or drinks after a 2 hour wait. After more than hour and a half they slowly started the tram. The descent took 20 minutes, because it needed to go slow. Be aware that even a breeze can stop the sky tram and then you are stuck without any information or compensation.
