Highlights
  • Hakone Turnpike Daikanyama Parking lot - We will begin the trip with one if not the most scenic road of the Fuji/Hakone region. The road itself has many panoramas and from the top observatory, there is an incredible view of all the valley, Hakone, and Fuji. Even in case of rain, it is so foggy and green that it is an incredible atmosphere.
  • Lake Ashinoko - We will then reach Lake Ashi, where we will stop at several famous Torii Gates (traditional Japanese gates most commonly found at the entrance of or within a Shinto shrine) and Shrines.
  • Hakone Shrine - The Hakone Shrine is a Japanese Shinto shrine on the shores of Lake Ashii. It was founded in 757 and contains a Tori (red gate), several shrines and buildings, some souvenir shops and a museum. It is one of the most beautiful shrines in the region, lost in nature.
  • Tenzan Tohji-kyo - After the highway trip, scenic road, shrine and lake visit, it will be time to eat, and of course, relax. We will slowly make our way to some of the most beautiful onsen that Kanto has to offer (several choices, depending of your mood and desires). There we will be able to eat local specialities, relax in the thermal water, and even have a massage. Napping next to the water in the relaxation room is also possible, and recommended.
  • Pola Museum of Art - If the weather isn’t kind, or if you are quick, or interested by both, we will go to Pola Museum, which is indoor. The museum is nestled in a forest of beech trees and hidden in the wooded mountains of Hakone. The award-winning modern architecture blends finds a beautiful contrast and harmony with the surrounding nature. The museum exhibits a world-class collection of Western and Japanese paintings, ceramics, and cosmetic utensils, with a focus on impressionist paintings.
  • The Hakone Open-Air Museum - After lunch, and relaxation at the onsen, it will be time to take the road again and go to the open-air museum. It holds collections of artworks by Picasso, Henry Moore, Taro Okamoto, Yasuo Mizui, Churyo Sato, Susumu ShingÅ«, and many others, featuring over a thousand sculptures exhibited within 70,000 square meters of green garden. It is both mesmerizing and relaxing, for adults and children alike.

Immerse yourself in the authentic Japanese experience, away from crowded tourist hotspots, with a keen emphasis on leisure and wellness without overlooking breathtaking landscapes and cultural experiences. We’ll arrange for your pickup at your hotel and take you to Hakone, a renowned hot spring town of Japan. Our journey there will consist of picturesque routes, leading us to stunning scenic viewpoints (including Mount Fuji), serene lakes, and historical temples.

Once your appetite kicks in, we’ll guide you to a unique location where you can savor traditional Japanese meals (we won’t make you eat from a box at a plastic table unless that’s what you prefer) at a fair price, and immerse yourself in some of the best hot springs the region has to offer.

Post this calming experience, we’ll continue our exploration and conclude our day at an exquisite open-air museum in the vicinity, complete with an enchanting garden weather permitting, or captivating architecture if it rains.

Since it’s your private tour, every aspect and detail can be customized to suit your liking, or you can just leave the planning to us.

Wonderful clear day - Had a great day will Elie. Saw Mt. Fuji from a different place where there isn't a lot of crowds. Didn't get close to the Mt but still able to have a clear beautiful view. Had an excellent dinner, a Japanese massage and went into the onsen for about an hour. We didn't have much time to visit the museum but the onsen was worth it. Good trip to take when it gets crowded and want to see different views of the city. I recommend it.

A local experience - This tour was such a treat! We saw so many cool things as well as enjoyed some good food and company. The onsen was so relaxing after a long flight. A really great experience if you want to see some sides of the city that we would not have found on our own. A true local experience.

Relaxing and unique experience with a great guide - Elie was the best guide! He was super knowledgeable, accommodating, insightful and easy going. He will take you off the beaten path to see sights that are not overcrowded by tourists. He also gives great recommendations for restaurants or activities to do after the excursion, so make sure to ask! The onsen experience is a MUST— and Elie brings you to a really immersive one.

Nice getaway from the city - This was a great tour to get a day out of Tokyo into the countryside. Many tours do not include a visit to the Onsen, but this was excellent and the food there was very good. If there is time, get a massage it was great. Overall a great day out . The views were spectacular (it was a clear day).

Loved the trip and Elie! - This is not your typical tour. We enjoyed seeing Fuji from several vantage points. Hokone was beautiful and the Onsen gave us the relaxation and culture experience we wanted. Elie was a fantastic guide and we enjoyed getting to know him throughout the day!!

Onsen and temple experience , enhanced by Magical views of Fuji. - So happy I booked this experience my first time in Japan . If you love nature, temples, onsens, traditional Japanese food, riding in comfort, and good company, book now 😂! Elie (driver, tour guide) is easy going , and is great conversation. He has designed the tour with relaxation and traditional site seeing that no many or any ?? Other tours do . Includes; Beautiful ride to onsen with views of the Fuji mountain, which will take 1hr - 1hr 20mins Elie (driver) will stop along the way for site seeing pictures and if wheather permits a gorgeous view of Fuji You will stop at a temple of luck and walk around . Then wind down the scenic roads with Fuji in the background to the onsen. Here he will advise a delicious restaurant in the onsen (of your own fee, but quite affordable) Tattoos are no problem at this onsen You will stay at the onsen for an hour or so.. He then offers more scenic site seeing or a museum art gallery with installations on the way home . Both if time permits . The ride home you can get stuck in traffic . None the less Honestly the best thing I did in japan. Thank you again Elie

Amazing experience! - This was a fantastic day. Elie our tour guide was very friendly, informative and accomodating. He knew the more exclusive spots to see the breathtaking Mt Fuji. The visit to the onsen was a unique and relaxing experience but if it’s not your thing, you can have a massage, rest in the relaxation rooms as well as enjoy a delicious and traditional meal in the restaurants there. It’s a great day trip to see various sights and get a genuine feel for the Fuji / Hakone region - especially for those who want a more exclusive and memorable experience. Recommend highly.
