The tour is quite impressive, featuring two significant sites - the National Monument and Miniature Park in Jakarta. This tour is popularly known as ‘Golden Jakarta’.
Firstly, the National Monument (MONAS), standing at 433 feet, is a symbolic remembrance situated in the city park’s center. Construction of MONAS started in 1961 during Soekarno’s era amid political issues and was eventually opened to the public in 1975.
Its design is inspired by the infinite ‘Lingga and Yoni’ concept, built with Italian marble and topped with 50 kgs of gold plating. It encapsulates the journey of Indonesia from its inception to modern politics through reliefs inside the monument.
In continuation of the historical journey, the next part of the tour is a visit to the Miniature Park. This park, situated in East Jakarta, serves both educational and recreational purposes, depicting cultural diversity. Spread across 100 Ha, it features distinct pavilions and museums.
