- Nathmal Ji Ki Haveli - Nathmal Ji Ki Haveli in Jaisalmer is a late 19th-century architectural marvel that once served as the Prime Minister’s residence. It is renowned for its exceptional architecture and is considered the finest in Jaisalmer. An intriguing story accompanies its creation. The magnificent structure is the result of the efforts of two brothers, Hathi and Lullu, who were jewelers rather than architects. They began working on different sections of the building simultaneously, resulting in the left and right wings being similar but not identical. The carvings on the Haveli were based on descriptions from people who had seen them, as the architect brothers had never seen them in real life.
- Kothari’s Patwaon-Ki-Haveli - The merchants of Jaisalmer constructed some of the most elaborate residences ever. Patwon Ki Haveli, made of Jaisalmer sandstone, is adorned with intricate jaalis and elaborate façades. The most exquisite stonework is on the exterior, as these structures were primarily displays of wealth. The largest and most ornate of the havelis is Patwon-ki-Haveli, a collection of five adjacent houses built by five Jain brothers in the early 19th century. These brothers were the sons of Guman Chand, a trader in textiles and precious metals.
