- Hawa Mahal - Palace of Wind - Often referred to as the “Palace of Winds” or “Palace of the Breeze,” this architectural marvel is located in the heart of Jaipur city. Inspired by the distinctive design of Khetri Mahal, Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh constructed this magnificent edifice in 1799. It was designed to allow royal women to observe street activities without being seen. The five-story, semi-octagonal monument features 152 windows with overhanging latticed balconies, exemplifying exquisite Rajput architecture.
- Pink City - Did you know that the entire city of Jaipur has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site due to its buildings made from pink stone? This enchanting part of the city boasts awe-inspiring architecture lining both sides of the road, offering photographers excellent opportunities to capture stunning cityscapes.
- Albert Hall Museum - Originally intended as a concert hall in 1876, the Albert Hall Museum was later used as a Town Hall until Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh II of Jaipur proposed its use as a museum for Industrial Arts. It now showcases masterpieces by local artisans. The museum’s name is derived from the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, due to the architectural similarities. Witnessing this structure illuminated by lights after twilight is a visual delight.
- Amber Palace - Known for its artistic style elements, Amer Fort is one of India’s best-preserved fort palaces. Perched on a high hill overlooking Maota Lake, it presents an almost surreal beauty. Constructed from red sandstone and marble, the four-level fort includes a courtyard on each level: the Diwan-e-Aam, or “Hall of Public Audience,” the Diwan-e-Khas, or “Hall of Private Audience,” the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace), or Jai Mandir, and the Sukh Niwas. Amer Fort is part of the Hill Forts of Rajasthan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort’s unique design blends Persian and Hindu architectural influences.
- Jal Mahal - The Jal Mahal, or Water Palace, is a stunning example of Rajput architecture, situated in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. Maharaja Jai Singh II of Amer renovated and expanded the lake and palace in the 18th century. It offers a picturesque view from the Man Sagar Dam and the Nahargarh hills. The five-story structure, built from red sandstone, is a must-visit in Jaipur due to its breathtaking views.
- Jaipur - The Hawa Mahal Night Market is one of Jaipur’s most vibrant spots in the evening. Visitors can shop for handicrafts, leather bags, shoes, clothing, local fashion accessories, block printing tools, souvenirs, and more. For those not interested in shopping, the market offers a variety of street food vendors serving delicious delicacies from across North India.
