Samode Palace

The palace, constructed by noblemen from the royal court, is situated near Samode village on the outskirts of Shekhawat. Built from sandstone at the base of the Aravalli range (the primary mountain range in northwestern India), it has a fortress-like appearance. The palace’s interiors reflect the ancient architectural style of Rajasthan, featuring marble floors, intricately decorated pillars, mosaic walls with tiny inlaid stones, luxurious carpets, and adorned with old wall paintings depicting hunting scenes, floral motifs, and more.

Samode Bagh

Samode Bagh, or garden, is a 16th-century Mughal-style garden enclosed by a 15-foot (4.6 m) high wall, covering an area of 20 acres (8.1 ha). It includes 44 sandbank-colored tents with air-conditioning for visitors. The garden combines traditional Rajasthani and Mughal décor with Victorian style and modern amenities. It features a 200-foot (61 m) long water channel lined with fountains fed by springs and wells. The tent walls display elegant Mughal art paintings. The tents are furnished with carpets, standing lamps, well-designed beds, chairs, and other modern facilities. A 150-year-old pavilion is also located within the garden’s grounds.
