• Amber Palace - The journey begins at Amber Fort, situated 11 kilometers north of Jaipur’s center. This grand fort-palace complex, showcasing a blend of Hindu-Muslim architectural styles, was constructed during the reign of Raja Man Singh and served as the residence of the Kachwahas from 1600 to 1727. The fort’s name is derived from the town of Amber, which was named after the goddess Amba, not its lovely pastel yellow hue. Key attractions within the fort include the Sheesh Mahal, which is adorned with countless mirror tiles on its walls and ceiling. Due to the expansive nature of the fort/palace grounds, hiring a guide is recommended.
• Panna Meena ka Kund - The visit continues to Panna Meena Ka Kund (stepwell), a hidden treasure near Amber Fort. Built over four centuries ago, it boasts breathtaking architecture and intricate staircases that are sure to impress!
• Jal Mahal - Nestled amidst the Nahargarh hills, the Jal Mahal is renowned for its elegant architecture and design. This water palace was once a venue for royal duck shooting events. It is well-preserved and offers a picturesque view of Nahargarh Fort.
• City Palace of Jaipur - Located in the heart of old Jaipur, the Royal City Palace is a magnificent fusion of Rajput and Mughal architecture. Commissioned by Jaipur’s founder, Maharaja Jai Singh II, this opulent palace includes the living quarters of the former royal family, some of whom still reside in a private section.
• Jantar Mantar - Jaipur - Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO world heritage site, is the largest of five observatories built by Maharaja Jai Singh between 1727 and 1734 in northern India. This observatory houses fourteen major geometric instruments (or yantras in Hindi) for measuring time, predicting eclipses, tracking stars, determining planet declinations, and measuring celestial heights, among other functions.
• Hawa Mahal - Palace of Wind - Jaipur’s iconic landmark, the Hawa Mahal, is a remarkable pink-painted, delicately honeycombed structure that rises five stories high. The Hawa Mahal is celebrated for its stunning and distinctive architecture. It features 953 windows, known as jharokhas, beautifully integrated into the honeycomb design. These windows not only provided a view of the outside world for the royal women but also helped keep the palace airy and cool.
• Jaipur - Known as the ‘pink city of India’, Jaipur is celebrated for its remarkable monuments and royal heritage. It is also renowned for its textiles, pottery, and gemstones.
