- Tripolia Bazar - Explore the designated areas of downtown where local artisans and handicraft makers ply their trade. Photography is allowed, while watching artisans making lacquer bangles, brass and metal vessels, polishing old kitchenware, dying cloth, making terracotta lamps and intricate marble statues. - Tripolia Bazar - Explore the designated areas of downtown where local artisans and handicraft makers ply their trade. Photography is allowed, while watching artisans making lacquer bangles, brass and metal vessels, polishing old kitchenware, dying cloth, making terracotta lamps and intricate marble statues. You will come across book binders, iron smiths, gold smiths, roadside barbers and dentists. You’ll soak in the colours and the smells and see that traditional craftsmanship and ways of living still exist.
- Chhoti Chaupar - There will be a short tea break where we will enjoy “Masala-Chai” and some freshly cooked hot snacks. Later, we go down alleyways to find a wondrous assortment of incense and candles, wall decorative strings, natural perfume and herbal henna shops, then on to all the colours of a wedding goods bazaar where couples haggle over the price of Saris and jewellery.
- Badi Chaupar - We will also visit a small factory where confectioners make curd, cheese and sweets from milk, where we can enjoy the taste of freshly cooked sweets. Then you will be guided through the spice bazaar, flower market, followed by the vegetable and fruit markets. There you’ll be intoxicated by the scents of spices such as cardamom, clove or cumin and the sweet fragrances of rose, jasmine and magnolia.

Wonderful Jaipur Toir - We met Kumar as arranged. He was bang on time. What he took us on was very special. It wasn’t a tour of the normal sights of Jaipur but a very intimate interesting walk around the streets scratching beneath the surface of what you would normally miss without a local showing you. Kumar has lived here since childhood and his stories and explanations brought to life the seemingly chaotic world around us. Explanations of Hindu markings on street posts the history of hidden buildings. The history of the Maharajas of Jaipur and how Jai Singh II designed the layout of the city were all fascinating.
Wonderful.
He took us through the various trades districts and into statue carvers workshops. All with gentle explanations showing respect to the workmen.
He took us to a street food shop that he knew was safe to eat at.
We wandered around with his wonderful commentary and came away with a real
understanding of Jaipur and it’s history. We really recommend this tour. Kumar was brilliant.
Just be aware that there is no mobile network coverage at the meeting site. But he was there outside the Government Maharajo Public Library with a big smile.

Street life and street food - This was a highlight of our trip to Jaipur. Kumar is a very good guide and, after a day of touring the historical highlights of the city, this tour was a great way to see the real Jaipur. The tour is set at a good steady pace, with Kumar’s commentary telling a great story of the town. Highlights included the visit to a Hindu temple and several opportunities to taste delicious street food. Kumar pays all the vendors so you know there will be no pressure, a great bonus.

Wonderful walking tour of Jaipur - Kumar was excellent. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and showed us the back streets and the markets of Jaipur. We came away with so much appreciation for Jaipur. A wonderful walk, and a highlight of our trip to Jaipur.

An insiders guide to Jaipur - Kumar was an excellent guide who tailored the tour to my interests. He told many interesting stories about culture and heritage in Jaipur and took me off the beaten track to see some less touristy sites in the Pink City

Must do in Jaipur - This tour offers a great opportunity to visit Jaipur by visiting different temples, discovering different handcrafting and walk through the bazar. We had the chance to spend the tour with our guide Vivek, very knowledgeable, reliable and a great listener considering your preferences as a tourist. Thanks again Vivek!

This walk made us fall in love with Jaipur - I highly recommend this guided tour. We were a bit overwhelmed with Jaipur until this walking tour. Kumarji very patiently and with a lot of love for his job showed us around the streets, markets, shops. He offered us to take tuktuks to some areas but we were enjoying the walk too much.
We learnt so much about the history, art, culture of Jaipur- truly fascinating. We wanted to see more of the handicrafts and architechture. So he customized our tour and we walked through the streets where people worked with marble statues, Lakhh bangles, brass utensils, flower markets, etc. He showed us a lot of Frescos, explained to us the stories behind them.
Also, we had amazing jalebis, samosas, bread pakodas and chai diring the walk.
We wanted to buy some Jaipur block print fabrics and he took us to a beautiful shop. The tour felt safe and we did not at any point have to worry about falling into tourist traps. So, just half a day tour made our Jaipur experience quite wholesome.

Amazing Jaipur Walking Tour - Kumar Ji is a brilliant storyteller. We would recommend all of our friends to take his tour, absolutely worth investing the 4 hours while you are in Jaipur.
He paints an endearing picture of Jaipur and you can see that he is so passionate about the city and its heritage. We enjoyed the Sunday morning walk with him very much.
He had planned the walking track so meticulously that we spent most of the time during walking in the shade while covering the lanes of old Jaipur. He asked us what handicrafts we wanted to see, and tailored the tour accordingly. The Jaipur famous snacks and chai were the highlights.

Highly recommended! - Great time seeing non-touristy areas! This was exactly the type of tour we enjoy...Seeing how regular people live and work. Kumar was a fantastic guide, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with him. Highly recommended!

Food and cultural tour of Jaipur - This walk was such a great introduction to Jaipur for us. Our guide Kumar had great English and a great sense of humour. He introduced us to places (eating and cultural) that we never would have found ourselves, and gave us SO much fascinating information along the way. We were in a group of 8, which was a great size. I totally recommend this tour.

Off the beaten path - Great tour of Jaipur - Kumar takes you thru different neighborhoods and explains the essence of each one. He also makes sure you are well fed and has go-to spots for street food. Take this tour if you're looking for something other than the must-see tourist spots. Tell him what you're interested in seeing and he'll take you there!
