Upon arrival in Agra, they will visit the renowned Taj Mahal, a white marble mausoleum constructed by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan in the 17th century in honor of his beloved wife. The Taj Mahal is celebrated as the finest example of Mughal architecture.
Following this, guests will explore the 16th-century Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This fort served as the Mughal Empire’s seat until 1638 when the capital moved to Delhi. Constructed from red sandstone, the fort is akin to a walled city, featuring several well-preserved palaces, halls, and a mosque.
Next, guests will enjoy lunch (at their own expense) at a local restaurant.
After lunch, the journey back to Jaipur includes a stop at Fatehpur Sikri, the former capital of the Mughal Empire. Visitors can explore the various halls, palaces, and the tomb of the Muslim Saint Salim Chishti. The 180-foot high Buland Darwaza gateway is an architectural wonder.
The final stop on the itinerary is a visit to the 10th-century stepwell in the village of Abhaneri. Stepwells were created by the people of Rajasthan to collect rainwater. The 13-story stepwell features a subterranean palace at its base, which served as a summer retreat for the royal family.
At the conclusion of the tour, guests will be driven back to Jaipur and returned to their hotel.
