Great for everyone - Me and my wife signed up for a lesson. I had surfed before but not much and my wife a newbie. John was our guide and I felt he did a great job. I asked for him to stay with my wife and I’ll do my own thing while taking direction. John did a great job of ensuring she had a great time while giving me pointers as I needed them. My wife was also highly afraid of being in the ocean but she felt safe in this area of the beach and with the other people out on the water. Now she is a convert and found surfing to be one of the highlights of our honeymoon. They also had a professional photographer taking pictures and using a drone to get great footage which allowed us to capture the great experience. We will do it again if we are in CR again.

Inspired to continue surfing lessons - What a perfect setting for surfing !!! Communication prior to arrival was great. (I Suggest downloading WhatsApp for cost free international texting) I had a terrific time starting with the greeting by one of the Surf Factory instructors showing me where to park in a gated courtyard. Nadine, who turned out to be the surfing photographer, was next and she introduced me to my instructor Amber. Amber was very meticulous in letting me know what the plan was, giving safety instructions and walking me through on land how to walk the board through the waves, slide into the board, standing up, falling safely, etc. The wave action was not too bad for my newbie self and I was surprised how well I was able to do with Amber’s help in a short period of time. The Surfing Factory has secure lockers to store your car keys and your change of clothes if you wish along with outside showers to rinse off. They also have rash guard surf shirts to borrow so you don’t have to get your own top wet. The surfing photos (for a small fee) of me were an unexpected treat as I came by myself and did not know this option would be available. I am inspired to continue my lessons when I return home to Florida. Thank you all for a memorable time.

Surfing for Newbies - I had the best time! I figured I’d fall flat on my face and end up like a drowned rat and instead I actually got some fundamentals and was able to ride a wave in! 🏄🏼‍♀️🏄🏼‍♀️ I loved this experience!

Fabulous experience for the whole family! - The team at Surf Factory are all excellent! They confirmed ahead of time, met us on time, had free / secure parking right next to the beach. We were given 1 instructor per person for our family. Everyone got a great introductory lesson on the beach and then one-on-one instruction to get up on the board and surf! My kids are age 9, 12, and 15 and all had a great time! They came home surfers. The beach at Jaco is super soft sand, no rocks, great waves, just perfect for surfing. My husband who has had more experience surfing, got some great instruction and improved his technique. After the lesson you can rent surf boards or boogie boards for the day to stay and enjoy. There are restaurants on the beach close by too. I would definitely recommend the Surf Factory!! Enjoy!

Fantastic time, no regrets! - My wife, 4 kids (9, 9, 11, 13), and I went for a surf lesson on March 18, 2024. We had an amazing time. The instructors made it fun and helped everyone up on their board and riding waves (even a 41 year old me with not great balance). The photos and drone footage we purchased from the team were also top notch. We went to 3 parts of Costa Rica and did a variety of activities from canyoning to zip lining, etc, and this was 3 of the 4s top activity (the other it was #2). I did about 2/3 of the time surfing and switched to boogie boarding, and had a great time doing that as well.

Excellent experience! Highly Recommend! - Such a great surfing experience in Jaco! All the staff was friendly, the instructors were amazing! It was our family’s 3rd time surfing and we all had success!

Incredible time with great instructors! - Such a phenomenal time with great instructors! We went at 4pm so we got to surf right into sunset. The water was perfect, waves great and staff wonderful! I had my wife and our 11yr old son with me. Neither of them had surfed before, I have been since I was a kid. I had the instructors stay with them most of the time since I have done it before but even with that when my wife would ride in the instructor would come back to me and help get me in some ways I couldn’t quite get on my own which was very helpful too. They had a girl taking pictures and drone video which I was going to do on my own but since she was doing it I got to surf with my family the entire time instead of having to stop and start taking the pictures and drone videos myself. Very inexpensive for the pictures and videos compared to most excursions. $60 for all 3 of us. Awesome time surfing with the Surfer Factory!

Surfing is SO GOOD on a Perfect Beach!!! - Incredible experience with the whole family that had never been surfing before! Perfect beach, perfect waves and great instructors that were patient and kind. We all got up right away thanks to them and that includes my 10 and 12 year olds. Definitely would recommend to anyone!!

Amazing Surfing experience - The beach is perfect for beginner waves, pristine black sand and shallow waters. The instructors were amazing. John and Miguel were knowledgeable, attentive and made us feel confident. Great memories for the family. We Strongly recommended!!!

Best places to learn to surf - We had an absolute blast. It was our families best day in Costa Rica They asked us all week to take them back!
