Join us on a very unique and exclusive Sunset Tour to Playa Fantasia. Our sunset tour departs at 1:30 pm from Playa Herradura cruising 40 minutes up the Gulf of Nicoya to a secluded beach.
Playa Fantasia is a beach, accessible only by water, a beach with sprawling jungle, reef formations, white sand and turquoise waters. Untouched and full of marine and wildlife such as Monkeys, Scarlet Macaws, Turtles, and of course, all our rescued animals.
At Playa Fantasia, you have access to boogie boards, paddleboards, surfboards, hammocks and beach loungers.
This tour is an excellent alternative to Tortuga Island to avoid the crowds and is a great short and sweet experience perfect for families with children, couples, and singles. Cruise home to the sunset.
IMPORTANT GREEN SEASON UPDATE
Due to the green season our sunset tours will be operating during daytime hours (11-3:30pm) from May 15, 2021, to November 25, 2021, to avoid the afternoon rain.
- Our cruise is not a booze cruise, if you are looking for a booze cruise, you will be disappointed
- Vegetarian option is available, please advise at time of booking if required
- Not recommended for participants with back problems or participants with limited mobility
- There is plenty of shaded areas on board, please prepare to spend majority of your tour in direct or indirect sunlight. For safety reasons spray sunscreens are not permitted.
- We board the large catamaran from small tenders from the beach. Long dresses, and pants are not recommended.
- You will be notified by a representative of your pickup time, our transportation will only wait 5 minutes at each stop before moving to the next stop. If you miss your transportation time, your tour will be cancelled without refund.
- ID is needed to use paddle boards, boogie boards, surf boards and snorkel gear.
- Banana Boat rides are available for purchase. Please contact us to reserve and purchase tickets.
- VERY IMPORTANT NOTE GREEN SEASON MAY - NOVEMBER *WE DO NOT RUN A SUNSET TOUR. Our sunset tour during these months operates from 11am - 3:30 pm to avoid rain, and rough waters in the evening during these months. During these months there is rarely a SUNSET and safety is our priority - always! Please note when booking these months we will contact you to arrange pickup, which is will be between 9:45 - 10:30 am during GREEN SEASON.

Family, friends, and a proposal at Playa Fantasia! 💍 - This was a great sunset tour! My family and friends enjoyed it as well. It was very organized, with kind staff. The music was nice on the boat and the beach was lovely. The lunch and drinks were good. Also, my then boyfriend, now fiance, proposed to me at Playa Fantasia! 💍💍 I was not expecting that to happen during the tour, and in such a beautiful place! I have so many cool videos and photos, with many great moments/memories, and top tier sunset views. I highly recommend this tour and using this company. Pura vida! - Britteney

Great experience! - We had a great time. The vibes were immaculate! The crew was great and took good care of us, and we felt very safe. The beach was a lot of fun with boogie boarding and beach volleyball and the lunch was really good.

Costa Rica catamaran experience - This was an amazing experience. The crew was amazing and professional. The BBq on the beach was phenomenal and the beach they take you to is private. Plus my sister got engaged on the excursion so it was a memory we will have forever. Thank you guys for such an amazing time. Highly recommend.

AMAZING - Absolutely the best experience on a catamaran. The captain and crew are amazing and they took us to a breathtaking beach. They cooked for us-DELICIOUS and the set up for the food was absolutely gorgeous. The drinks were very good and we watched the sunset on our way back. You need to book this trip with them- I promise you won’t regret it !!!

Wonderful Experience - I went with my boyfriend and another couple on this tour. We had a wonderful time! From the start of the tour, we were catered to by the staff and they made us feel comfortable. We even saw a whale! The beach was beautiful and had plenty of activities. The lunch provided was delicious. We will definitely book this tour again!

The Sea Lounge Catamaran experience- Don’t miss out! - What a fabulous day! I’ve been coming here monthly for the past 8 months. FINALLY discovered the Sea Lounge excursion. I would refer to it as the Sea Lounge experience. From the start to end it was spectacular. Fresh fruit and welcome aboard rum punch, a great sailing to the private island, an unexpected whale sighting, jumping into the crystal clear turquoise water from the top of the boat. It was my 65th Birthday and Yes! I did it! The lunch was wonderful and plentiful. The open bar was nice since you aren’t limited to rum punch and margaritas. It was nice to have some vodka and cerveza. The group of passengers were wonderful and we all had a great time together. We were about 26 people and we all had a terrific time! The crew was amazing and very service oriented. I’m planning to go again this week. It’s a perfect way to spend the afternoon. I forgot to mention, an amazing sunset view from the catamaran. It is an excursion I would highly recommend.

Not so great - This was an ok excursion. To get on and off the catamaran is not an easy task. Would not recommend for older people.
The lunch was AMAZING!
The guests on this cruise were all from the US but the music was all Latin and VERY loud. If you don’t enjoy Latin music, avoid. I feel anyone that is providing this type of service should play to the passengers and not their own taste in music.
The sunset was awesome and an amazing experience.
The isla is ok, not a lot to do and the crew does not interact a lot with the guests to get them in a party mood.
For the price it is not something I would do again or recommend

What a joke! - We were never given a proper place to meet. We arrived 12 minutes early to a massage shop then given a call that they had already left when we had already paid the day prior. Would never recommend this establishment! We booked with Costa Cat who were awesome and on top of it!
