Experience authentic Surfing with us, acquire top-notch techniques from a costarican champion. Passion and spirit guarantee a memorable lesson.
Equipment necessary for the activity such as a surfboard, ocean guide, and professional instructors are provided by us. Also included are Uv protection shirts, with both theoretical and Practical lessons.
Our teaching method will ensure you can stand on the board from the first few waves. A safety lesson with a dedicated instructor who will accompany you in the water always, guiding each move you make and teaching you the optimal way to paddle, stand up, dive under the wave, navigate past the break, and finally, catch and ride the waves like a pro.

First time surfer - Jay and Lucy are great! Jay is a great teacher and had me catching waves halfway through the lesson. I also rented a board for a couple of days after that. Wonderful people, and I'm excited to visit them again next time I visit Costa Rica!

My favourite surf lesson ever! - I have taken surf lessons in Hawaii, California, and Italy and this one was the best experience by far! The level of care that they showed was wonderful - from the booking process, to helping me in the water, to offering a nice place to shower off after the lesson was done. I will be back as soon as I can! Thank you Jay & Lucy :)

Professional and credible crew for your first surf lesson - The couple running the Sababa Surf Lessons are generous, professional and pedagogical. Instructor J is experienced, calm and patient, making the client feel comfortable in a situation new to them. The surf camp is well organized, neat and nicely maintained, and water, seating and resting is included in the price, as well as sun protective long sleeve tops. I truly recommend any beginner - even the scared ones - to take their first surfing lesson with this team.

EXCELLENT! - Save yourself some time and head directly to Jay if you want to surf in Jaco. I booked others people before I found Jay and I was absolutely disappointed with the first instructors. However, Jay was cool yet professional, taught me lots of new stuff. If I ever return to Jaco, I will only learn with him. 100% satisfied. 5 stars!

Unforgettable Surfing Journey with Jay ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Jay is an exceptional coach! During our trip to Costa Rica with my husband, we were transitioning from beginners to intermediates in surfing, so we opted for a class. The beach was crowded with different schools, so we relied on our instincts and chose Jay because he appeared experienced, authentic, and friendly. Best decision EVER! Jay was very patient and got us riding waves we never thought we could handle at our level. We had a blast and learned a ton. No need to look anywhere else.

Preciosa lección de surf por la mañana / Lovely morning surf lesson - Me lo pasé muy bien aprendiendo una lección de Jay. He practicado surf solo varias veces y nunca he podido mantenerme de pie. Con la ayuda de Jay, pude ponerme de pie casi cada vez que montaba una ola. Tiene un gran espíritu y pasión por el deporte. Gracias y Pura Vida!
